No, that gives you rates for the flat rate envelopes that you get from them. You can't choose your own packaging...

I just quoted a 10x13x1 1 lbs package from Pittsburgh to Seattle, over $9 with FedEx and $13 for UPS. Am I missing something there?!

Yeah, I used to be a bit of a musical purist.

But I've similarly come to the conclusion that it would be nice to be paid to play music sometimes, since I don't see a future for myself that doesn't involve music in some way or another.

Pretty much I've come to the conclusion that as long as it isn't something that nauseates me, I'll play it, even if it's not something I'm normally into or even like. Some music can be a lot more fun to play than it is to listen to, as well.

I guess I've just stopped caring about the question of selling out or not. I'm not going to write music I hate just to make money, but I'm not going to be an elitist about what I play, either.

In Section 4, there's a box for Flat Rate and under that is "-OR- Select Shape". That's where you choose the sizes for your own packaging. In the middle there's a selection for "Large Envelope", which is a max size of 12"x15"x.75".

Yeah, until Janitor pointed it out, I didn't realize the line that just says "Priority Mail" is for your own packaging. I still don't understand why its more expensive to use your own packaging.

Yea, I have a lot of shooting out to do, but I got my Mole, my bad monkey, black and green muff and my El Oso, want to keep my board tiny as possible. Just VT and chorus on the other amp.

Also if I do a Y splitter from a one pickup passive bass like my EB-0, is that output from the pickup cut in half on each side? I want to run two amps, always and I figure I could use a Y cable direct from the jack of the bass, but if I'm killing my basses output to do it never mind.

You can run into phase cancellation and grounding issues with a Y splitter. That's why they make ABY boxes, Radial's Big Shot is the way to go, it's cheap, non powered, and has phase and ground lift switches. The Y splitter won't kill output, but it may cancel it out depending on your amps.

So if the two girls I met do work out and we start something, there's quite a few local venues most with either PA or small stage stuff. My question is I got my Carvin head in a 2x10 combo. Would say 375 watts into a 2x10 be good mic'd or not for small places? Otherwise I'm going to ditch the headless cab part, and just use my cabs. I would from what I am hearing assume that we'd be playing some form of indie garage rock girl pop, not doom, but whatever. 40 watt SS 1x10 guitar amp and a set of unmic'd drums

Also Muench, I was listening to Vega's No Quarter cover, what setup does your guitarist have/was using? Also there are quite a few other musical projects called vega when I searched for you guys on google, just a fyi, dunno if it even matters.
