Stoner/Doom Bassists thread 31: We never sleep

Good to know. I will have to remember that the next time I am down that way. I feel pretty spoiled here. Seattle has a few solid shops for the things I like. Bass Northwest is kinda cool.. but so is the reception when you walk in. American Music is a great place to check out the bread and butter Fenders/Ampeg and whatnot. They even had a Custom Shop Jazz there until last Saturday when someone snagged it up. I dig getting to go to other cities and check out their cool shops.

I really liked Sloth, and Warhorse gets another listen. I might pass on the decompose need to listen some more, but I also dislike most growled, screamed gutteral vocals, I know I suck and I'm hard to please. That cianide band, did they record that one one side of a street and the mic at the other? They have a heavy sound, but it's kind of lost because it sounds so set back, like If I was walking by a venue and heard it outside.

I want that natural SG with the bigsby, P90's and fun would come from that.

Why do people do pedal demos for a specific pedal, then have like 5 pedals on at once during the demo!?

Yeah, some of the old stuff recorded back in the day sounds weak. Just turn it up louder... :ninja:
Yeah, I was a late bloomer on the gutteral. I know the feeling. Now I just hear it as another instrument. You may or may not find a band where it clicks and it works. :smug:

That SG body looks nice. What's that yellow one on the far right? P-ric?

I ended up googling you guys and liking you. done and done!

Next? lol. :D

Thanks my friend you rock!

He should go HM-2.

hahaha....that is hilarious. Maybe Dunwich can modify it for him.

Dunwich built / modified HM-2? All ready been discussed and pcb's designed. :hiding: Alot of people were all about it during the discussion but when it came down to putting money were your mouth is nobody seemed interested.... which sucked cause it would have been wicked awesome!!!

Really!? I would be interested... post xmas. :D
I have a spare one that's messed up. Can it be modded?

Yup, there was a group of us interested in it. nick was going to mainly be selling the PCB's so you could build it yourself, or building it for you for a small fee and wait time. I'm still interested in one, every now and then i get the urge to play some full speed black metal and that would fit the bill perfectly.

As far as fixing / modding one I dunno. You'll have to wait for him to chime in.
