Stoner/Doom Bassists thread 31: We never sleep

Agreed!

P.S. I have so many circuit design ideas but no f'n direction. Someone tell me what they want.

Points for originality.

Best idea gets built. (No guarantee that you'll like it though).

I once thought of a Rangemaster and a filter in the same box, call it Debbie Does Dallas. :p

Yeah, some of the old stuff recorded back in the day sounds weak. Just turn it up louder... :ninja:
Yeah, I was a late bloomer on the gutteral. I know the feeling. Now I just hear it as another instrument. You may or may not find a band where it clicks and it works. :smug:

That SG body looks nice. What's that yellow one on the far right? P-ric?

Is that band yours?

Weedeater vocals are ok, only because they are so thin they kind of bleed into the mix.

Idk if it is a P or ric but if he has one, MINE!

I wish that was my band. haha.

Thanks for the HM-2 info Ancient. It's such a beast pedal for bass and guitar. I let my guitarist use my good one. I might have to open up the broke one and see what's going on in there. My soldering skills are weak, but I am diligent.

Morning! Great coffee... Great Day! Couple hours of work... Should get the meatsmoke then off to primus... Got my basses set up last night and my buddy was rocking Church of Misery.... Damn, Where have I been on this one... Great Stuff, KILLER Tone.:bassist:

So, *** is up with Southern Lord, anyways? Their website is freaking terrible. Can't browse vinyls by artist, their combo packages aren't clickable links (you can add it to your cart but can't see *** it is, have to try to hunt down whatever flier they released for the package on their index page), and shipping for one record to PA is $15. I'm surprised they're even able to sell anything.

There's been a few forum ****-storms about those guys. A few years ago a lot of orders were massively delayed with no warning or explanation and vinyl that did ship often arrived damaged. On top of all that, customer service varied from awful to non-existent.

Not sure how they're doing these days. There's a metal record/cd store in town that carries their stuff. If I want Southern Lord vinyl I go there. The owner's a cool guy and I like to support local business.

I think that the Behringer BDI21 gets you there. It truely is the best $30 you can spend on bass specific gear, IMO, YMMV.

Are you looking for soundclips to try and stump the masses?

Not sure yet. There is no hard rules. I just though it would be funny/cool if a Metal Zone and BDI21 could be a B3K killer.

Well I am looking into getting HoF's TASD and Sleep's Dopesmoker. There's a purple package that includes both on purple vinyl, but I had to use google to figure out where the explanation of the package was on their page. Then after shipping it comes out to $75 or so, when I can grab both records off Amazon for about $50.

I guess I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for good customer service and limited and rare releases, but when I can't even figure out *** it is your selling, I'm not going to buy from you.

Dunwich built / modified HM-2? All ready been discussed and pcb's designed. :hiding: Alot of people were all about it during the discussion but when it came down to putting money were your mouth is nobody seemed interested.... which sucked cause it would have been wicked awesome!!!

the boards exist still on my computer. I would probably need to do a prototype which means someone or somebody would have to pony up the $85 cost for proto pcbs for the first unit. I was also still figuring out how best to incorporate the mid control into the circuit. Making it switchable between stock and the modded mid setup.
