Stoner/Doom Bassists thread 31: We never sleep

I had a jam session last night, with a guitarist and drummer. I had to drive an hour to and from, but it went pretty well. Not sure if it will become a band, but there's a potential since they're both good players, nice guys and have a good feel for the "desert" variety of stoner rock. The guitar player had a bunch of songs, not necessarily to use for a new band, but something good to get a feel for chemistry in the room. I pick stuff up really quick by ear, so I got a lot of compliments on my playing and my tone as well. So that was nice. We'll see how it works out writing original material.

What do you guys think of the Q tron for bass? I found one semi-locally for sale.

I've been looking for an EV that is a bit smoother than my bassballs.

Also it's this version

Do you ever wonder if other instruments have forums like this?

Like somewhere out in the internet dudes are arguing about what type of plaid looks best on their bagpipes? Or what brand works best for metal? Or arguing over "pipe" material. Do you think if they nail a take they say that really laid the pipe?

Oh man. My punk band just had a couple of gigs with Iskra and Ahna from Canada who are touring in the Europe now. Ahna hit just the right spots for me. Sludgey, droney, power violencey, bass & drums duo. Definately worth checking out if you dig like Burning Witch, Dystopia, Flipper sort of stuff.
