Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part 11 - "Bath Time"

First jam with guitar player tonight. I think we clicked. We planned to meet up next week, maybe with a drummer. I reached out to a few scene people to see if they know anyone. No luck yet. Laid down the big epic riff on him. The one I been working on since I found this thread. It's 7 huge riffs (that flow together really well, but they could all stand alone as songs) that total about 7 minutes. Also tried some vocals out. Not sure how they went over but he liked the songs, so yeah. One of you must havehad crossed fingers.

It's all about the whole mix of the music, its like the whole thing on a group of girls will look more attractive as a whole compared to just themselves. A la the movie Hall Pass. Your album kicks major JPATA arse.

And hearing about how Monobrow couldn't find a singer is relavant, will you guys ever add a singer or lyrics if the situation rises?

If the right person comes along sure. Doesn't have to be a vocalist either. If they play the clarinet and can add something to the band/music then we are totally open to it.

We are actually thinking of writing lyrics or asking some people to write lyrics for the upcoming album...then people can sing the lyrics however they see fit...likely won't happen but I think it would be fun to do.

Just got this in the post today. It's a 1978 Kramer Fretless 450B. It's seriously the most well crafted instrument I have ever played in my life. Paired with a Verellen Big Spider, I don't think I'll need much else.

Nice!!! I've almost pulled the trigger on one of these several times.

I went to a few music stores after work to check out their "cheapy" selections and didn't really knock myself over with anything. Best Buy did have a VM P-Bass for $264, so I guess that's a possibility. I'm going to keep my eye on the classifieds and CL and see if I can't get something even cheaper.

I did discover that I really like the Fender 70s P-bass re-issue, as well as the feel of an '81 Ric. Not really helping myself out there.

Check out the squier CS series, great basses. Also just read thru the "trade deal gone bad" thread and I was brought up, I didnt do anything wrong it was a epic christmas though. And i delivered as promised.

I'll probably end up just ordering an SX from rondomusic. I'm not feeling any particular rush at the moment, so maybe if I'm lucky a deal will pop up.

Their is like 4 threads, LOL. i believe most of TB was on Vaca because of christmas and had nothing better to do. It was pretty epic. I think I have deleted most of the pics. Ill see what i can do.
