Almost all of their guitar specific pedals sound great with bass too, with the right settings.

I had ignored them for years but I saw Jason Netherton show up to a gig with a bass and a Bass Driver. He plugged into the house and used phantom power for his pedal. He ran a signal to a power amp and the house 8x10 and it killed.

That thing was beat to hell with knobs missing and more. He said it's the only thing he takes with him when he travels abroad. He used to have an RBI/power amp for local gigs but he doesn't even use that anymore.

It really made me think about what was important to me gear wise.

If you play the kind of gigs that allow for that setup, it's pretty tempting. The BDDI can lay down a pretty good basic clean to slightly gritty tone easily. I personally don't like cranking the gain on it, but you can also stack pedals in front of it and treat it like an amp. Almost every recording I did in the past 10 years, in a studio, there was one in the mix somewhere. If I wasn't happy with the tone from my rig in the mix, go to that safety DI track, throw on the BDDI and blending to taste usually got me there. I ended up doing that a lot when I started recording other people as well.

We'll probably be on the airplane all day Saturday. We have at least one layover, I think we'll probably get to the hotel around midnight. Sunday we're just going to chill out and get a massage, Monday the theme park madness begins.

My last few gigs have been in situations where I still needed a cab but the PA carried my sound.

We don't play many shows so It's really a moot point but the sooner I find the perfect rig the sooner I can stop spending all of my time in TB land.

Fvckin' Dick Dale killed it last night. Kick ass show. Bass player had sick tone. Not sure what he was playing through (most likely Fender), but he had a sick relic p bass that sounded so, so good. Had a nice crunchy overdriven sound to it. Drummer was badass, too. Good sh*t.

I've got one, though I haven't been using it since I got my Orange Terror Bass. I'm undecided on how I'm going to DI if I need to. I love the tone of my Orange, but the DI runs super hot (the gain is the volume of the DI, and I run the gain up around 1-2 o'clock).

Yeah 400, Vitamix. 3hp industrial blender.
All the vegan/vegetarian forums talk about how awesome they are.
Supposedly they crush everything you throw in, no clumps, no wasted parts of the vege or fruit. And some other sciencey stuff about the breakdown or whatever.
