Stoner/DOOM Bassists thread part 37: Ancient Alien Fuzz

About watching yourself play, I saw a video of a bass player with a cam on his headstock, I thought it was really cool watching his hands. Well i picked up some crazy dank Afghan Kush, ridiculous body high that leaves the mind clear. When practicing, i found myself just watching my hands more instead of closing my eyes. I couldnt feel my hands but they were doing some crazy stuff man.

So I got a totally awesome package from Dunwich today and was able to finalize my bass pedal board. Super excited to try it out tonight and tomorrow.

so i had the chance to play through a brand new ampeg tube head and a 7 pro through one of the heritage 810s as backline for a show.

man, the new ampeg tube heads sound absolutely terrible. mud mud and more mud. i swapped for the 7 pro after 3 songs and didn't look back - AWESOME little amp, worked really well for rick tones and has volume for days. didn't try dirt with it though - wasn't playing with my stoner/doom band.

So you were first using a brand new SVT-CL? Can't believe it sounded that bad. Was it also a heritage head? Wonder if there was something wrong with it.

7 Pro takes pedals like a champ. You can only get so much grit from the amp itself, but it gets along with pedals really well.

On mans mud is another's blown out tone

Dare i say the guitar and bass tones on Amplifier Worship are heavier than Dopesmoker? Neighbours are not impressed right now.

Melvins got in the playlist today which led me to Boris unsurprisingly enough... Gonna see them live in 2 weeks time so super hyped for that! Their style is different now than the first albums, but still :hyper:

And truckfighters two days before that :bassist:

Truckfighters are definitely one of those "we may only be playing in front of 30 people, but we're going to ****ing act like it's 30,000" bands. Blew me away when I saw them live. Great bass tone, and I'd kill someone to own a bass that looked like that SG.

Yeah Nik's SG's are badass. The hardest part would be finding ( or having made ) a bridge like that for a bass. The rest wouldn't be too hard to pull off. I would also love one of those.
