This thing has been opened and shut 100 times. Wires moved. Parts replaced. Etc. It's not pretty.

Professor Oldcrow would be the master on this. He showed me many things in the art of standard tuned and heavy. It's all about tension and sometimes release.

Billows tunes E flat but I know several times people thought it was much lower.

Eb is a great tuning........for playing along with Load and Reload.

That's some shimmer verb from an eventide space. I spent like an hour just on that one preset getting it to sound perfect, I called it Dark Sunn, and then i created another thats more ambient with less vowel like qualities that i called Sunn-set.

I can sometimes hear organs playing when VEGA is in full swing, jam, cosmic nod mode.

They do!!! It's just pricey. I tried numerous different reverbs, but most of them had little variety, or poor tone. I needed something with a rack ton of presets (so i can match the verbs on our recordings to the live show) and alot of in depth versatility, and the Space was perfect. It's alot to handle, you really have to dive in and do alot of editing and saving, which deters alot of people, but it was perfect for me. Ever since i got the Timeline and Space combo, i've had absolutely zero gas for delay and verb.

Eb is a great tuning........for playing along with Load and Reload.

I love Eb. To me, it's a perfect mix of low-but-not-too-low. I use it in almost all of my cover/tribute bands (AIC used it, Thin Lizzy used it, much radio rock uses it). I play in a metal project that tunes mostly to drop-Bb (and sometimes C-standard), so I just tune my five string down a half step and play standard.

Not too difficult, but I want to keep the pre-amp available. Ideally I want to add a single push/pull knob, pushed in is preamp mode with nothing changed, and pulled out bypasses the pre, and bypasses the on/off thingy in the output jack... for passive mode I just want to send pickup signal (in parallel mode) -> volume knob -> output. No tone necessary.

Was going to put the bypass between the pickup selector and the pre, but after opening it up, that looks like a grittier endeavor.

if you figure this out PLEASE show me how... I would love to make one of my Rays passive! I bought a passive sub once, but I think they are wired series or something and it didn't sound good at all.. real honky. I once had one Stingray that would play at low output with no battery, but everyone i've had since us extremely low output sans battery... I dunno.
