Yeah you won't get stuck with it. There are some places that sell All Parts Necks for discounted prices, and they make a maple with white pearloid block neck, that might be another option too.

Yeah have to make sure the warranty is on it and a receipt, I almost bought a 500 from one of those guys but tried out the GK MB500 first that I sold off, but it wasn't a b stock and came with full warranty for like 430 shipped.

That's a heck of a bargain, with or without a warranty. From what I can recall, regarding their warranty, it has to be an authorized dealer, whatnot kinda crap. I think I paid a bit under $700 for My TB500 over a year ago, NIB from the dealer here in Georgia. FWIW-They have pretty darned good pricing on Orange stuff, free shipping, and all that.

That was the GK MB500 for $430 not the Terror 500.

Regarding the artist sig basses. I've never been wild about sporting something with someones autograph and all, but if it plays good and is what I want, I couldn't care less. All said, I still think the "Mike Dirnt" P bass I had, was all around one of the coolest P basses I've ever owned, right out of the box.

His bass is cool, but that damn star....

Ok: the 77 jazz is agathis, and discontinued, the Aiken is basswood and still available. Sweet water has both models, but the p bass is 8.10 pounds versus a 7 pound jazz, the amber isn't as uggo as I thought, but I think the p bass would do better. I'll call and see what deal they'll swing on either and the bass vi when I get home eek eek eek dolphin like excitement.

Haha Yea, on the squier models. I totally couldn't live with that. The one I had, was the Fender MIM model (no star, haha), and it was really nicer than I was expecting. I bought it almost new/used from another fella here, that had it strung with some TI flats (the nicest, most expensive flat wound strings I'll never buy, haha). All said, He'd had it for a couple of months and couldn't bond with it. It was a bit on the heavy side with the slab-swamp ash body, and all but the factory pickup set (62P) and neck profile was spot on for what I was looking for at that time.
Needless to say, for flats the TI's are nice and all, but to rich for My wallet, so when it came time for new strings, it got some chrome flats.
