Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part 82: Comfortable with Derision

I liked the small stone nano when i had it but then i bought the nobels phaser from Joe. Much more flexible, more sounds, deeper phasing, etc. But the kicker was the level knob, acts as an overall volume, so you can dial in a volume boost when you kick on the effect. I liked so much i sold the small stone.

Sort of a lame recommendation because they're out of production and not easy to come by, but if you see one, definitely pick it up.

A volume knob would be nice, I miss that on my DOD Stereo Phasor. The top of the swells can get pretty damn loud, especially with dirt on.

I didn't think it would make that much of a difference, but man I really like having that knob.

Found one at a MGR in Wilkes-Barre:

I think I paid 35 for mine, but I'd gladly pay 50.

Even found a demo:

Damn Ultra Joe time, that's where I lived in PA, I haunted that MGR all the time, miss that place!!! That has been there a long time, I was going to go there and buy that Nobels at the MGR during a visit back home but a local guy had one on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Craigslist and bought that one instead. Glad you dig it so much. I wonder if there is a volume knob mod for the Small Stone? Though the Nano is better than the old version I used to have.

Whats the difference between PHASER and FLANGER? I'm currently using a Flanger to great effect, usually kick it and the delay on at the same time. Can't really describe the sounds I'm getting but not sure if its far enough from a phaser to make another pedal worthwhile. This one was $15 so I'm keeping it on the board as long as it works for me and works in general.

The swoosh but minus the metallic jet engine noise, less 1980's more 1970's to me. Flanger was the first pedal I ever bought as a kid, the old 1980's Ibanez one think it was purple lol. My buddy in high school that had the Ric borrowed it and never returned it, I bet it is still in his Ric case under his bed never getting touched just like the Ric.
