They're overpriced. I got mine as a gift from a pal that used to work for a guitar mag. I think they've been trading used around $150ish? That still seems high to me, though. The built-in compression and FX loop are interesting features, if you have a need for them. I just think it's a solid-sounding OD and I like the separate clean & dirty volumes.

shag, I'm tired. Work's been kicking my ass all day today. At least I've got the Australia Day long weekend ahead of me with my last band prac with the full band on Sunday. Gonna be interesting to see if we can carry on.

Ive really been getting into these guys lately:

Seen them live in December. While I really enjoyed the show, their stage presence was quite schizophrenic.
Singer was acting like a rock star, shouting stuff like "are you ready to rock?," thrashing on the scene while they played their atmospheric melancholic stuff, guitarist looked like a cowboy dressed in leather from feet to his hat and just stood there while bass player looked like he just missed his gig at mid 90's Brooklyn hard core band and acted accordingly.
It was kinda funny.
Nevertheless, they gave a solid more than an hour long show and sounded exactly like on their records.

anyone know what "classic distortion" this is modelled after?
i'm not a big mxr fan but I do like that they develop bass specific effects.
my bass crybaby crapped out after the warranty was over, they fixed it for nothing so i need to give them a nod for that.

In other news, I got an email this morning from the one guitar player from the cover band that I am still on good terms with. He wanted to know if I was working tomorrow, or if I was going to come see them play....

In other news, I got an email this morning from the one guitar player from the cover band that I am still on good terms with. He wanted to know if I was working tomorrow, or if I was going to come see them play....

I stumbled on that band a while back and all I kept thinking was he is the human Eric Cartman. I love the epsisodes where Cartman belts out some soulful vocals. Fun band. I dig that the guitarist uses some light dirt in playing funk too.
