Definitely thought about that. Hell, I have a bunch of Walnut burl veneer that even crossed my mind, but that's too extreme. If we did veneer, I think I'd have to cover the corners/edges with hardware, since that joining of thin veneers would be a weak spot for chipping and/or ugly unless it was done very well. Plus veneer can be a pain in the ass to apply.

+1 on that! That's how I run my current rig too. We'll see what happens once the new amp is done though. I love the GK growl as my amp OD, and then a lay more dirt on top of that with pedals as needed. I have a volume pedal that I can tame things up with if needed. I run the Peavey 120/120 hot too, so it gives a little growl from the power section as well.

I used to do that. Doesn't hurt a thing. Saves you the trouble of using a hundred clamps :)

i like some amp OD, like when using a guitar amp as part of your rig, but i'm actively looking at changing the front end of my old amps to have more headroom. either that or i'll just spring for a dunwich right guys..?

Oh, I realized I didn't post this here last night, as I made it in a rush and then got offline right away for dinner. I did another bass demo clip with the Dunwich DA120OD, running on 18v directly into my Crest Pro-Lite 2.0 power amp, using it as a preamp. It might even work at 9v, at least with this particular power amp that I have, but I didn't test that. The tones come out a little different because of the power, but I duplicated the previous demo I did with all the same settings, for comparison.

No shows I've found yet. Richardson is rather dull it's the suburbs of Dallas, you will have to venture out possibly. I've only visited the family of a friend there/been to the half price bookstore. What are your interests so I can figure out what to suggest. I work in colleyville by the airport (the big purple patch).

I preferred it a bit more in front of an amp with the same settings, but if I had more time I'd do some tone experiments and find the best settings and signal chain for using it as a preamp. Unfortunately I've got to ship it back out to the next person. It definitely works as a preamp or a dirt pedal and kills it for both though. The ODB is on its way to me from Ron, so that will be coming up soon as well. I reckon I'll have have one of each permanently in my possession before too long.

Never thought of tremolo before, might have to give it a shot.

And for clarification, it's not that I dislike the Flanger/Envelope Filter combo, it's that I can't quite get the sound I'm thinking of. The ones I have now can get harsh - I use them on some higher pitch stuff, and it makes my cabs squeal, but in a bad way. So, flanger and envelope filter suggestions are still welcome.

What about just slamming the front end with a clean boost when needed?

I want a reverse delay, but I doubt I'd really use it.

Man been on the road a lot today. Back and forth to work, then home to grab a small stone and practice amp to sell to two people on opposite sides of town, but profits made and tama kit goes tomorrow. I spent $230 on the stuff I sold this week and if tomorrow finishes as expected, I'll have sold it all for $565!

Grabbed some Red Mahogany stain and the accoutrements needed to get this drum kit up and running as a I'll practice on the small tom, then move on up to the others. Going to finish and seal the inside walls too (unless someone wants to try and stop me).
