lotta photos shot yesterday, might hi pass filter a few in photo shop to get them a little crisper, this was the only hardcore photo for you guys, lb100 will arrive on friday, but i'll be in santa clara at serj from system of a downs eyeforsound art show at los gatos museum, they'll be exhibiting the 3 new instrumental songs that go with the negative skull album covers, gotta get the sb-2 set up again, cause some of the tuners are now buzzing after the previous setup, not sure if it's the strings, the tuners, or i'm playing too darn hard, oh well, gotta go to the desert to shoot some more and to see the lady friend, be easy guys

I love the old Guild B301s and 302s. Also hanker for Ovation Magnums.

I dig Rics but, sacrilege though it may be, I'd rather have an old MIJ bolt on neck copy of one.

I have a major aversion to set neck and neck through instruments which I have discussed here before.

Hopefully I'll be able to cobble together some kind of Peavey amp rig one of these days.

I tried to stick to the early 70s. All these songs were recorded between 1970-1973 with the exception of two. One it is unsure whether it was recorded in '69 or '70, and one track comes from 1974.

I also tried to keep to (mostly) more obscure bands. There's no Sabbath, no BOC, no Pentagram. There is a Hawkwind track...serious fans of the genre/era will likely be familiar with a couple of other bands (Bloodrock, Dust...), but overall I feel most of these bands would take some deep digging. Maybe I'm wrong. In a lot of cases I listened to all the entire albums I could find by these bands to cull the heaviest number.

Anyways, YT vids aren't available for some of these tracks, and I didn't want to link 22 files onto this post, so I am just going to post the tracklists. Maybe this is useless, but it should be possible for anyone curious enough to scare up the majority of these cuts on YouTube or maybe find them as mp3s to download or on Spotify or something. I really tried to find the heaviest I could. Because of the time they were recorded, some of these songs are more like heavy boogie cowbell bellbottom mustache rawk, but I think it's all good.

I'm making a double-disc compilation of them to CD-R just for grins. If anybody here hasn't heard this stuff, I think a lot of you may enjoy the sonic archaeology involved in trying to get yer ears around it.

Some is surprisingly heavy for the times...

Probably should have added a track or two by Blue Cheer or Randy Holden, but here's what I got:

Stone the Crows, we are considering changing due to getting some plays etc in Europe - the land of the ever popular 1960s Stone the Crows.

afterneath is tickling my fancy i have to say. need a bit of excitement on clean passages and a crazy feedback machine.

the only reason i'm not dead set on it is because an analog delay can create some brilliant tones when set long and with the tone rolled back - like the MF104M or the supa puss.

couple more snaps, turns out there were a lot of photographers there all night. check out the stupidly thick strings i'm using now. i must say the sustain and low end has improved a lot.

Drilled holes in the shim for the bridge pickup, re-mounted the bridge pickup, slapped the neck back on, and put a set of Chromes on the Jazzguarbird today. Finally got the pickup heights to match and gpt the bridge pickup back at proper volume. The Terror Bass and my dirt pedals sound so much better with flatwounds for some reason.

Also, the Rickenbacker 4080 is bolt-on...

Had an old Gibson SG that got the neck cracked on it real bad in an accident. Also have had set neck instruments that had to be reset or started warping ir bowing, etc.

Too much work and expense IMO and no sonic benefit. Replaceable bolt ons only for me henceforth...
