Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Congrats on the new old Peavey, Max. I was looking for info online about that series and there ain't much. Gut shots/specs/clips would be appreciated when it arrives!

The very very first ones were 35 watters, then Hartley bumped them up to 120 watts. Judging by the size of the OT in a picture the guy sent me, Im guessing its a 120 watter. So it probably isnt #1 but with only like a handful of these fenderish PVYS made and no serial numbers it close enough to call #1.

Hey everybody, I know I've pretty much disappeared from the forum but it doesn't look like much as changed.... Max is still collecting Peavey... and otherwise topics are woven in and out of. Anyway I (we) got into the studio over the weekend so I wanted to share, and I'm interested / excited to get ya'll's feedback. Some of this material has been in the works for well over a year, probably closer to 2. We're still working on nailing down the best singer / vocalist since it could go one of a few ways. Anyway, part of getting recorded was to shop singers.... We recorded live and then overtracked second guitar / solos. We are currently a trio, and I just threw together the bandcamp with whatever I could make work.

For all the nerdy technical tone stuff here's my signal path:
Modified Epi Eb3 longscale with monel rotosound flats tuned to drop B -> Strobostomp turbo tuner -> splitter
1. ) Volume Pedal -> Bluebeard -> Ditto -> Meatsmoke Pre -> Effects return on the Acoustic 320
2.) Morley PWB -> Cusak Screamer Fuzz -> Sonic Death Ray Phaser -> Front end of the Acoustic 320
-> all into a 215 (I still need to respeaker my 408) I believe we mic'd the cab, and took a line from the verellen's record out.

ENJOY! Sorry the embed isn't cleaner.... at least it works. I hope everyone else is well!
Cheers!

I don't know these guys personally, and I haven't yet actually seen them live. They are from Tucson AZ, 90 minutes down I-10. But I'll tell you what @mc_muench - if you ever haul PVYHenge out to AZ, I'll do what I can to get you guys all on the same bill. All you Californians better move east first or it might get a bit soggy west of the San Andreas Fault.

Max, I think you need a set of period correct Peavey PA speakers to go with your mixer amp. GH could really use a Peavey PA for vocals.

I actually use that 412 I bought for PA purposes...vox and kick get mic'd.

Depending on the venue and room, id totes bring it along.

I also have those Kustom non tuck and roll 212+210s sitting unloaded that I tried to make into 412s but failed. Planned on making them into light boxes at some point.
