Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Awesome! I bet they were happy to roam around while you were cleaning.
Twice while running in upstate NY i ran across turtles in the mountains, and they are among my coolest "animal encounters"...

I love turtles and tortoiss. When I lived in Florida I was on a hike and I came across two big gopher tortoises. One I think was trying to right the one that fell over on its back. Maybe it was just a mating ritual fight that got out of hand and it just seemed like the one was trying to help the other but he was just doing the yeah uh huh take that bitch. Anyway they were huge and the only huge turtles I saw before that were snapping turtles that could take your fingers off. So I used a branch to roll the one back over while both made huffing noises at me. After i righted it they both took off in opposite directions. Afterword I found out they don't bite like snappers and I could of just flipped it over.

I was visiting my buddy in the UP last summer, we kept finding turtles on the road, we'd stop and pick them up put them off to the side, till we got to a mean giant snapping turtle. He couldn't be convinced to move out of the road so we left the little ******* there.

I shave and brush my teeth in the shower, so I just use body wash as the face lube, and Venus razors. They be cheaper than the men's Mach razor and do a better job. It's meant to cut through thickets of pubes, so a couples days of face hair growth is nothing. And it lasts, I've used the same blade since this fall.

I'll have to keep that in mind. When I shave my head I get maybe 2 sessions out of a razor. When I was shaving my face, I'd get maybe 4 or 5 shaves before the blade became a torture device.

Yeah best to slide them to the side with stick. Last weak
seemed to be mating season where all the turtles start crossing the roads. On the main 55 mph drag, two lanes each side, there was a snapper stuck in the middle of the lanes. Poor thing was so scared from the fast vehicles buzzing by it and I knew it was going to get hit from traffic hour. But I give that bad arse props for puffing itself up and snapping at the passing cars. It was sad and bad arse at the same time.

Lot of work, transformer will probably cost more than the amp and may not even be possible to do.

Would be easier/cheaper to get a different cab that's the right impedance.

Damn kinda figured it wouldn't be as easy as I was thinking.

Perhaps if I can find someone willing I should trade my bassic's 3015 8ohm for a 4ohm. That would be easier and do the same thing for me. There's no real place for an 8 ohm bass cab in my situation.

you had never seen a turtle before that? Crazy dude. Do you live on a space station.

I've been thinking about trying one of those razors. Can't use electric shavers, takes forever, chews up the skin on my face and leaves stubble behind that i have to clean up with a razor. After a couple weeks of use i get the red bumps and ingrown whiskers, sh*t sucks.

I get red ingrown stuff too regardless of the razors old or new. Old old tugs, but I always cut myself with a new one...

Weirdest thing is once I was in my dorm the night before summer class started and I drank a 40 and decided to shave and sliced a postage stamp sized chunk of skin off my chin. Healed without a scar, but sometimes after I shave, for a few minutes I turn red in the shape of the wound.

Leela tooth!

My brother in law sister and kids came in on music business, took me to a super nice restaurant in town. Had the duck confit atop gnocchi, charred Brussels, cauliflower and wild mushrooms in a cream sauce. Great stuff. Also the pickups she found at a garage sale for me are a set of American standards from the 90's I think, pretty nifty.

Got approved for the property and the secretary who called said he likes me and it's gonna work!

Its summerfest here in MKE, saw Stevie Wonder and then Buddy Guy last night. Stevie was WONDERFUL...

Buddy guy was good but man a bit, how do i say it, slow/unorganized in show/performance. BUT if I was a blues god and 78 years old I wouldnt do things quickly or give no fvcks about nothing. Glad I got to see him alive.

Amazingly, I found out All Them Witches is playing Summerfest (also Bonnaroo)...seems like theyre makin it into the mainstream, bout damn time someone from this heavy genre breaks through. Those dudes deserve it. Ill prolly be 1 of only a handfull in front row for their early 4 oclock slot.

Well, just succumbed to GAS. 3 Dano pedals on the way. The Blue Paisley, Black Paisley, and the Dan Echo. Figured I was looking for a cheap Dano board, and since the Paisleys are supposed to be pretty similar to the Daddy-O and Fab Tone respectively, I'll just use the ones I like less on my second board and not have duplicates. Should be fun times!

Ugh any other time and they would have been mine when you had mentioned them here earlier... Oh well your gonna have to report everything about both on bass and guitar!

So lately leelas eyes stay open then roll back as she's sleeping then starts getting all twitchy.

I looked it up, and apparently dogs have 5 sleep stages similar to us. Most Outdoor dogs/wild dogs/working dogs will only likely ever achieve level one sleep and tend to curl up in a defensive ball when resting.

Indoor dogs gradually realize they are safe and mellow out and become capable of reaching 5th stage REM sleep hence dreaming and twitching. and falling asleep is more of a process than just closing their eyes so they slowly drift off and their eyes go weird.

Sorry, just like to learn.
