Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Turkey, thanks for the well wishes. Wish you could have the preamp too, but really I think a dually would serve you better for now.

I agree. My long term (who am I kidding with my financially irresponsible gas) goal is two duallys and a pre/power rig. Kind of torn on the pre. I was looking at the various tech21 pres or trying to find an svp. I was also reaching out to a few builders to see if someone could clone me a sunn beta pre to run with a crest prolite or some other similar power amp. The mostly harmless would have been a 2nd best scenario behind a sunn clone. Not super sold on the other options. I'll just have to keep looking around. Unfortunately not a ton of local options to try first hand.

General response I've gotten to the custom is No, because it would be a PCB build and I guess guys like to do the P2P thing.

But yeah dually would serve me better in the more present time frame, dunwich pre would have taken care of the more difficult acquisition though.

Oh yeah. Damn. Good luck with em. Bet they both sell quick. Both are nice...that Roadstar boners me.

Oversharing?

That's a really ball-less lowball. And on such a great and beautiful instrument.

I just declined. Didn't even dignify it with a response or counter. I paid $750 and put another $75 in it for a new nut because the seller I got it from hid a broken nut with string tension. I'm losing money trying to sell it for $750 and that's a steal for an SB2. When I was shopping I regularly saw them go for $8-950. I'm kind of surprised by the lack of interest in it though. I would have thought it would be across the country at this point. Oh well. Like I said birthday is coming Monday and while I certainly will not receive what I need for the cab, if I get anything at all from the family; whatever it is will put me in putting range.

Those strings worked well joe! Thanks again. Weird the stock .85 on these is kinda weak. This is a .84 E and it's pretty taut.

Funds won't allow me to keep both the Afterneath and Rainbow Machine. Both have their own unique awesomeness but I've decided to keep the Afterneath for now as it works better for what I need and it has a smaller footprint. If anyone here is interested in the Rainbow Machine let me know. It is in fair condition, has some dings and scratches but functions perfectly.

also selling my Moog MF103 Phaser.

Had my first ever shave with a traditional style safety razor today. I never had a shave so smooth in my life, my face is as smooth as my 96 pound high school girlfriend's arse was! I was afraid I was going to cut myself but never did. Why did I wait 25+ years to try a safety razor out.

Listed my PRS SE Santana sixer on my local CLists today as a trade for another guitar. I want something that doesn't slip off my lap as much and with a longer Fender type scale length and that can handle higher then 10 gauge strings too.

Like a cheap disposable bic razor or a throat cutter? Do you electric shave, I find them weird and ineffective, but I had my dads old one.

My rockmaster head is 4-2 ohms. At some point down the line could I get a replacement transformer with an 8 ohm tap as well and just add an extra speaker out? Or is this a lot of work/expensive/not feasible

Lot of work, transformer will probably cost more than the amp and may not even be possible to do.

Would be easier/cheaper to get a different cab that's the right impedance.
