Sadly I have to admit in my early teens I listened to hair metal, it was popular in my high school. Thankfully it lead me to heavy metal and to punk. I was in that junior high/early high school stage when it was so damn popular. Feels good to get that off my chest...
All this talk of hair metal, and I'm the first one to say it: Steel Panther.
That is all.
Eh, feel no shame. I can see the fun in that stuff even though it was never my thing. I don't believe in "guilty pleasures." Only pleasures. I'm not the least bit squeamish about my love for The Monkees or some ABBA or huge mega-hit bands of the 70s like Wings, ELO, Elton John...some real cheese. Ya likes what ya likes. Fugg everyone else.
As long as you aren't into Guns N Roses, you don't have to justify anything to anyone.
I can top that:
Spyne Ryder. (but put umlauts over the 'Ys')
I feel the need to say I only liked it for a few years then hated it after I got into better music lol
What's wrong with guns and roses (first album)?
I commute 60 miles round trip to work lol
@Squanch72 im getting nostalgia for the old @mc_muench avatar. Keep thinking you're him.
@Muddslide, good work on the new yob!
The way those kinds of drain cleaners work is by dissolving organic matter, essentially, IIRC. If you water it down, you are diluting it and so actually making it less effective. As far as I recall. It's been many years since I've used any.So don't taste it for quality?
I kept plunging and adding hot water to dilute my drano until my house smelled like an indoor pool. Then all this stuff started seeping out under the plunger and I stopped and walked away. Checked it before bed and it was drained and a bed of sludgy hair and debris coated the tub. I'll buy that next time if it's not likely to destroy my plumbing. my house is likely over a hundred years old.
The 80s were a weird decade. So incredibly obviously homoerotic while being completely un-self-aware about it, to the point of ridiculous homophobia.Yeah, but have you reveled in the glory that is Great White yet?
Also: be sure to check out Warrant and Britny Fox and Cinderella.
It's funny, back when I was enough into punk rock and young enough to work that look a little bit (mostly limited in my case to Doc Martens, flannels, torn up old jean jackets and homemade band t-shirts) me and my friends got called faggots, homos and queers by people who listened to bands that looked like this:
*snip pictures*
Nah, I only have an EHX Big Muff and a Swollen Pickle on my board right now. And I'm wanting a custom fuzz that will allow me to toggle between those sounds with the flick of a switch, so that I can go down to one fuzz pedal.Man, I am feeling put to shame with all the fuzz collectors here. I started with a big box muff borrowed from a friend, then went fuzz-less for a few years. Then I bought a Bluebeard in '05. Tried a Swollen Pickle, took it back, back to the BB. In '13 I got a second BB (Tone bypass), and later sold my old one to Bryce. That been pretty much itI am looking into a Musket for my guitar rig, but no other fuzz I've heard or tried has made me stray from my Bluebbeard.
Ugh, don't even get me started on all the guys who expound on how "my basses are just tools." I feel like they're pretty much all try-hards.Do people on TB know that GAS isn't an actual syndrome?
Then the people who get all philosophical about their basses as tools blah blah blah make me want to go drink some of @askrere's drano.
I guess I'm in a bad mood today.
On another note, I got that T-40 back together last night. I got the truss rod adjusted but not perfectly...it groaned a bit and made me lose some of my nerve. I put some flats on it that I had on the other T-40 for awhile. The blade pickups are hotter and brighter than the older toaster style.
Lol, we listened to a lot of that on tour. I think "my heart belongs to you, but my dick is community property" was kinda wishful thinking, though. All this talk of hair metal, and I'm the first one to say it: Steel Panther.
That is all.
The Monkees' music got pretty weird once they got creative control of it.Eh, feel no shame.

That's it, exactly.Eh, I'm a d!ck.
Always just considered them the most overrated band in the history of rock music.
Actually thought the band was fairly tight and decent, but Axl's primadonna douchebaggery, whining, nasally vocals and sub-junior high school-level lyrics kill it for me. Kill it all the way.
The Sunn 2000S and 1200S, IIRC, were rated at <1% THD. So yeah, they may only be rated 120 watts, but they are loud for their rating.Had a killer time last night at our show. We opened for Black Tusk and it was awesome. Real nice dudes those guys are. They dug our tunes as well which was pretty cool.
I had some drama to handle before the show. I was trying to do some final knob tweaking and level checking through my ampeg rig and 810, and I think I blew a fuse in my power amp. It will power up but only the fan turns on. No LEDs. I haven't been able to find anything on google yet to help trouble shoot. I'm pretty sure the amp power plug is to blame. It fits in the socket in back of the amp, but rather loosely. Not super loose, but not as tight as it should be. A couple times now I have powered on the amp only for that plug to come loose enough to kill the power. The amp died as a result of this poopie. I am a little bummed, but I can't imagine the unit is done for so I'm also not that worried about it.
I also happened to be testing my sunn with the 810 to see how far 120w would get me. Turns out it is enough for one cab shows. It actually is louder than the prolites 875w through the 810. Something that both confuses me and makes me feel like I need more than the 3.0 can offer. I'll wait to hear the prolite through a dually before I assess final judgement though. Sunn sounded excellent! Worked like a champion and was actually noticed sonically by a couple people who have been to our shows before.
Rig pic of the evening.

Next Saturday I think I will run both tube amps to an 810 each. It should loud pretty good.
RE: Fuzz
Started with EHX BBM
Then on to
thC Ultrastoner mk2
Dunwich 3 knob Cthulhu
Blower Box
AE Hail Cannibus
Lone Wolf Iron fist, Little Bastard and Extreme Octave fuzzes
I also have two Pharaoh clones and two 2 knob silicon fuzzes in the works.
I also have a Tortuga Fire Ant and EQD speaker cranker that I use for lighter dirt duties.
I'd like to order a Blackbeard soon, but would also like to check out some other fuzzes as well as an Afterneath.
