Also, really solid band practice tonight. Songs are coming together left and right. Bazz worked fine all night, just sounds amazing with the svt. Guess I just need a pedalboard teardown and rebuild.

Man that DOD 201 Phasor is so much fun I almost want to buy another and still have the Small Stone in the chain. Damn I loves me some phaser. The Univibe-ish and Stutter settings sound so good I want to have two to leave one for each. Then use the Small Stone for normal phase.
Interesting about pets and practice. My gato is fine with anything except live drums. I think it's the vibrations. He'll disappear into the couch then creep out 90 min after practice and look for monsters before sounding the all-clear.
My African Grey Parrot is a trip when I play. She tries to keep up with me, something about those fuzzy frequencies get her all excited, not sure if she thinks she is calling out to other parrots or not. I thought at first I was annoying or scaring her but you could tell she is having fun.
You got yourself a singer!!! I can see the ad now...Bassist and Parrot looking for guitar*d and drummer to make fuzzy jams.
Greys are awesome, they love music and dancing and being goofy. Awesome birds.

I don't know why I never use the DR I got a couple XMas's back and download stuff. At least to record her sillyness while I noodle. I think it just looks so Star Trek to me and it is probably simple to use.
Yeah I love our grey, she is a Timneh so she is smaller than a Congo and she actually loves to be held or on my shoulder. We have two pairs of parrotlets and three of their weaned babies that haven't gone to their new homes yet and the grey mimics their tiny voices, it's a trip. I like that the Timneh's are only about the size of an Indian ringneck parakeet. I think we might get one or a pair of them eventually too. Birds and reptiles are my favorite critters.

walking around the yard shooting birds with my discount multi zoom, something weird is going on with the L2k or maybe it's the xl170s, the bass sounds all sizzly which is fine live cause i want to project, but i don't like to use it for practice, cause i like a deep almost subsonic tone in the house and for recording, these strings don't seem to be deadening at all and i've had them a long butt time, i don't remember this ever happening before, and i've been using these strings for about 6 years, the nickel dunlops on the LB100 are nice and half dead, maybe d addarrio changed the formula or something, it's borderline bizarre/unacceptable
My day largely consisted of Fallout 4, Woodstock Director's Cut, and exercise, in that order. Sushi up next. At least the exercise makes me feel like I did something productive today, just another week of lounging until the new job starts up.
Just thought back to the brief conversation a while back regarding the P/W crowd. I remembered that back in high school every now and then we'd put on some concerts and about the only venue that would let us play was the church across the street. Had some pretty nice acoustics in their actually. I'd been arranging a show there and was loading gear in when I was stopped by church...members? Workers? I don't know what the right term is, they worked there. Anyways, they stopped me and told me I couldn't bring my cab in because it was an insult to God and America because I'd hung the flag grill cloth in the wrong orientation. To which my reply was something along the lines of "Well, yes, I AM using this cab, I've been the person planning this whole show, and who cares how the flag is hung?" in typically respectful High Schooler manner. It didn't go well, and we were only allowed to finish loading in once we went and got a teacher from the our school who then had to come down and convince them it wasn't an intentional attempt to disrespect their church.
But yeah, just do not get that scene at all. I just don't see how religion really has much place in rock. It's like everything that ISN'T rock, at least the abrahamic religions. But then I suppose most of the P/W stuff is some sort of...funk gospel derivative?
I will say though, I dig the idea of using old churches as venues.

Having grown up in a number of churches, I fantasize about opening a bar in an old church. Generally they have crazy high ceilings and (green)rooms behind the pulpit(stage). Plus bathrooms accessible to the audience seating.

Jazz pickups be confusing me. It's not a serious immediate issue, but how do you decide what's gonna fit? I saw 3.6", 3.735", 4", and 4.1" sizes mentioned. My squier PJ jaguar seems to have a 3.718"?
Should I not be measuring based on end to end? Is there another way that's more universal?
To recap, it's a stereo Jag. P is bassy actually kinda scooped circuit with SDQP. Looking for a j pickup (if neccesary) to replace the stock one. The j sides mid/treble grind. Finally wired up, but not near an amp to play it yet. Each has its own out.
30" short scale version, with custom ordered deep talking flats for BEAD on the shorter scale.

My brother almost bought an old church to renovate as a house. The priests retreat was to be he living house and the main building would be basically a house/bar combo. He was going to keep the sign out front and change it to "The Church of Rick".
