I love 5 string, pretty much been using them exclusively for the last few years. I did BEAD with other basses before and I like it, but it's nice to still have the regular 4 strings to use. I got better at learning the notes on neck and liked not needing to mess wth tuning when playing with guitars in D or C.
I have to admit it feels kind of strange. I haven't kept a bass (or a guitar for that matter) in E standard for a long time. So playing the 5 string in BEADG, I can't decide whether it feels like having an extra low string or having an extra high string..
