I have to admit it feels kind of strange. I haven't kept a bass (or a guitar for that matter) in E standard for a long time. So playing the 5 string in BEADG, I can't decide whether it feels like having an extra low string or having an extra high string..
I like treble. Gives my fuzz dat sizzle and my OCD that clanky pick cut through I love. I like guitar with it rolled back though. Guitarist #2 uses an excessively bright tone that sounds like crap to me, but it sits really well in the mix. Seems he and I are the only ones who comprende "the mix".

Oh, I know treble is used often by some people. I typically try to avoid it since many times it gets too ice-picky really quickly for me and I typically just don't like that trebly sound. That's why 1:00 is a big deal for me. Still, though, it kills in the mix, and that's what matters.
Depends on the amp, for me. And the volume. On my amp's "bright" setting it can definitely be annoying, but on the normal setting, especially through my 2x15 cab, it sounds good. Part of the reason I hate tweeters, actually. They make the highs weird sounding to me.

The type of EQ the amp uses is a big player too. If you are using a fender circuit, then anything but off is a boost to treble. So 1 o'clock might be a fairly substantial boost, even noon or 10 o'clock would be as well.
Yeah. My amp's tone stack is Fender type (my biggest gripe with it, honestly), so treble is on "2."
Which still isnt "flat" treble. But that is one of the reasons it works so well with distortion boosting up the mid range.
Yeah. I'd rather have the tone stack of the V4, to be honest. I'm kinda emulating it with the graphic EQ, I've found.

Work finally fixed the damn filters, howdy all.
Am 7 weeks or so into an interesting band/drum/keys project, aiming for post punk/new wave, not sure where its ending up. Will be putting up a RN/FB/what have you this weekend after I curate some jam room clips. Good times.
@Turkeypills you decide on speakers for your cab yet? Mine sounds like hammered azz, need to pull the drivers and get a new grill.
