ok, thanks for the quick info, maybe i'll be able to get a few tracks from my friends outside of LA, maybe not, but at least now i know that it's not gonna be easy peasy

Google drive will give you 15GB for free, then you just send the link or share the file to whoever you want to share it with.

Unless Apple has some ******** copy protection code in their file structure....

Otherwise have saved to a thumb drive and fedexed to where it needs to go.

While working on the oil finish for the body I got the urge to "test fit" the parts I've have in hand.
Still need to acquire a bridge, neck plate, output plate, strap pins, and a pair of battery connectors.
After the finish is cured on the body I'll just need to cut a nut, assemble and setup.

RE: amps

@mbelue I get what your saying with tube amps but am not sure how that applies to SS. To my understanding, SS power clipping is bad both tonally and physically for the amp. To much boost from the pedals would clip a SS amp like crazy and eventually blow it. That's why I was concerned about the same thing with tubes. What you are saying makes total sense, but tubes and OTs have their limits and I'm just wondering at what point is that reached? I guess more often then not, speakers would blow first. I used the dually tonight at practice driven by my 2000s. I was loud enough with a bunch of lows! Amp was only on 3 but my pedals were super loud. With the same pedal settings and my SVP/3.0 rig I would have been far more quiet and clipping the power amp like a slot machine jackpot. That is a disappointing 860w. The builder, when asked about my cab issues, asked if I had tried bridging the 3.0. I am super hesitant to throw 3000w at an 800w cab. I'm thinking the dually may be fine, but class D is the issue and a waste of my time and money. Tubes win though. I'm really just not sure. The JBLs would have blown with what I was doing tonight, but the faitals could keep up. Dually is louder but only with a lot pushing it. I'd add that in order to get enough lows, I had the bass dimed and bass boost engaged on the amp.

More tests needed.

That's not the same as PREamp clipping. Almost any brand you can clip the preamp without hurting the amp as a whole. The issue is the poweramp engaging an output limiter or over current device most are in the poweramp section.
(The only series of amps that puts the output limiter in the preamp portion of the circuit is the new GK mb series, both combo and stand alone. In their case the limiter is after EQ and effects loop prior to line out.)

Again this is as far as I understand things. Assuming the amplifier and pedals are operational. Broken stuff breaks other stuff, just ask Laz.

IMPVYE, the bad SS clipping is when I run out of whats sounds like input headroom. My new 3120 can take my dod250 and wumbo muff in tone bypass, all dimed just fine. but if i try that with my SS PVYs they sound like theyre being choked, like the elephant butt sized amount of gain im pushing is trying to squeeze itself into a pinhole and makes the distortion sound very unpleasent. But I can tell its not the power section cause it doesnt change at "lower" volumes. Never had one blow up yet though.

Yeah, they're going to be in Madison next month, pumped for that. Saw them on the wilderness hearts tour and it was shaging epic. Had a friend drive like six hours to see the show and crash at my place. He hit the edibles, smokables and IPAs really hard before the show. Saw him as the band was setting up, then he disappeared. Found him outside after the show, he said he saw like the first 30 seconds of their set, then had to outside and puke. Then he thought that he should smoke a joint to settle his stomach, threw up a bunch more, ended up missing the entire set. That was five years ago, still give him poopie about it, haha.

Big things happening lately...Shogun is instrumentally ready for shows and seriously crush faces and we booked our first gig for a Riff Reaper showcase, okay hope we play like 2 or 3 shows before that...

GH just booked another mini tour in @Pelham Bleu neck of the woods in June, with our madtown clone Serpent Lung. Were also waiting on an answer about a Detroit show the next weekend after Iowa with a TB doomer, Sorich, remember him? And hopefully by then GH'S split with @Niff band Reaving will be done!

So I'm happy with the dually after all. I just have to use tube amps and a lot of volume. I think it was being out performed by the 215s simply because those drivers were getting a substantial amount of their power handling capability. With the volume on 3 with the 2000s I was loud enough. Without plugs I couldn't hear the definition as much as I'd like but that's an EQ issue made for me by the guitarists. With plugs I could hear all of me. I'm done with class D anything until my back gives out. Every class D amp I've tried has just been very quiet for its power rating.

That means gear up for sale soon to fund number 2.

Selling off the Prolite 3.0, SVP-CL w/NOS tubes and probably my Kramer DMZ4000.

Also selling some pedals; LWA Extreme Octave (bee baa clone), boss phaser, whammy, 5 channel looper and possibly my LWA iron fist.

If anything sounds appealing PM me for a doom bro deal.

After cabs have been ascertained, I'm gonna save for an SVT and quit ****ing around with amps.

So last Friday, I strolled into a pawnshop with one hundred and forty nine US dollars, and strolled out with this babe

In 23 years of playing a bass, I've never really been interested in >4 strings, modern curvy styling, or active pickups. Figured it might be time to get over myself and stretch out a little. While the modern curvy Soundgear styling has not been my aesthetic preference, I admit I always love picking them up in music stores, they've always felt ridiculously easy to play. I put some fresh strings on her, cranked the truss rod back a bit, and she's like BUTTAH! Deep, thick, bouncy buttah.

I'm gonna leave her in B (standard) for the time being and see if I write any different-feeling riffs (all hex volt stuff is currently 4 strings in drop-C).

Can't decide whether I want to branch can out into prog death, jazz fusion, or gospel slap now ha ha ha

I love 5 string, pretty much been using them exclusively for the last few years. I did BEAD with other basses before and I like it, but it's nice to still have the regular 4 strings to use. I got better at learning the notes on neck and liked not needing to mess wth tuning when playing with guitars in D or C.
