Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

20160901_131448_zps8w7botpf.jpg

Yeah well...

I just thought I'd share some thoughts about "bi-amping with one Amp"

My Inspiration was Royal Blood, that dood Plays a bass thru an octave up in a geetard-stack and the bass Signal into bass...

so my thoughts are....

I use an akai unibass which gives me the dry bass Signal and a Signal that is put one octave up and added with a fifth, so I get one Signal "bass" and one Signal "guitar powerchord". All mixed together and put thru my ampeg Setup it sounded okay but meeeh...

so now:
Bass into comp into unibass, dry Signal into muff/overdrive into ampeg preamp, geetar Signal into a delay and a geetar preamp, both mixed together into poweramp and bass cabs

this is what I'm gonna try as soon as I get the geetar preamp (lookin at joyo orange Juice or marshal rack pre) and I Need to build a two channel passive line mixer.

I hope this will be DOOOOM!

A boss LS-2 might solve a lot of your problems.

Hi guys I'm new here bug doom fan but pls tell me wy every is obsessed with this old band black Sabbath? They are just old guys playing really slow and they arent even though ed down to g#minor!!?!?!!?
I know you're being facetious, but I have had people argue with me and try to convince me Sabbath aren't doom metal. I pretty much told them that they were wrong, and that Sabbath is THE prototypical doom band. Modern doom may sound much different more than 40 years later, but it all started with Sabbath.

Makes my head spin that someone who professed to be a "metalhead" would argue that point.

It would hurt my soul if someone told me Sabbath wasn't doom. If you can't hear the Sabbath in Sleep, electric wizard etc etc your ears must be broken.

I've had several people try to tell me this.
Terrible.

I said it was only gonna be closed until it got cleaned. I'll even be nice and merge this to it once the cleaning is done so you can be close to 3000 pages again.

If you you do, cool. If not, not a huge issue either. We have 90+ pages of historically being the longest running, most visited, most viewed thread series on this forum. Even if the majority of the TB community is unaware of that. We can adjust to this thread. ;)
