Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

So, in the name of epic laziness, can a blown PA speaker cab have its speakers replaced with guitar speakers and be ok if you're only running vocals through the PA, or is that playing with fire?

plug it into winSD, the computer will tell you if it works.

ITS SCIENCE MAN.

not following this tho, do you wanna put guitar speakers into a PA cab and play guitar through it? or put guitar speakers into a PA cab and run vocals into it?

Put guitar speakers into a PA cab and run vocals into it.

Toast has two Sunn 4x12 columns. He uses the one for the treble side of his rig, and the other is used as a PA at our practice space. I guess someone accidentally put the PA into bridge mode and killed the cab, so he wants to replace the speakers but still be able to use it as a guitar cab I think.

youd be fine with that. you wont hurt anything at all. just dont max it or push it too hard (which goes for all speakers).

This crew would probably enjoy this...Wife not so much.
Driving my daughter to go get some dinner last night there was no music playing in the car, unusual to say the least.
I began singing her Warpigs.
Kind of surprised myself remembering all the lyrics with no music to back me up.
My daughter is always asking me to sing to her in the car.
It's kind of a game we play. She'll say I want a song about something and I'll try to remember the lyrics to a song related to that.
Yesterday she asked for a flower song, what she got was.

Nice rig rere.

Peavey Festival slave is fixed, i feel like I paid to much for a store to repair it compared to buying the amp, but then again I normally never pay more than $300 for musical stuff, so I guess its not that much. Plus it needed to get done before DOTD.

Also finally was able to ship out the acoustic power amp to trade for the Bear Amps Lucifuzz and a series parallel cab box of magic, I should have that before DOTD as well.

Should be getting something cool stuff I ordered for VEGA merch next week and I'll have to get a custom stamp made to VEGAize them. Should be done before DOTD, otherwise well have no merch for the show. Theres a small chance we might be able to get a small small batch of t shirts before then.

I'm getting really pumped to play DOTD since VEGA is playing it now, don't know if you could tell.

Will you bring your WHOLE rig to that show?

Theyre going to have backlined cabs for quicker change over times. 2 full stacks for guitars and a single 810 for bass. But that's not nearly enough for bass IMO so I'm bringing my 3620 clone and I'm letting people use my Festival power amp and 3620 clone if they want because DOOM. So not my full rig but I'll have 10x10s and 2x18s, which is sufficent enough.

Don't forget all of Dax Riggs' solo stuff, and the Deadboy and the Elephant Men albums.

I've been an Acid Bath fan since high school. A buddy of mine and i got into them about six months before Audie died. That was a bummer.

Never got to see them, but i did see Deadboy and the Elephant men once and Dax 'solo' - he had a small backing band - always really good shows and he's a nice guy.

Three times he was playing in town the same night as me at different venues and I've missed him every time.

I've heard of Goatwhore at least and bummed they were not on the west coast leg of the first Celtic Frost resurection tour... Heard the east and midwest shows were with them on the bill. The relation of Sammy to Acid Bath may have been read before but not remembered or heard. I'll dive in more when time opens up.

That vid made me want to cook these burgers:
