First impression: very cool. They remind me a bit of the Travis Larsen trio, but more playful. Ms Mollestad really can look at her guitar like she thinks: "Hey, this thing can make cool sounds!"

I read Mark Lanegan’s book recently, so I’ve been going back through Screaming Trees’ discography. I don’t enjoy their early stuff too much (neither does Lanegan), but Sweet Oblivion and Dust are great albums.
I highly recommend Lanegan’s book to any fans of 90s music. His life is crazier than I ever imagined, and he tells tons of great stories about all the artists the Trees were associated with.

I never listened to them, but do know that my favorite HM-2 clone, the Earthbound Audio Throat Locust is named for a song of theirs. The PCB has "Listen to Tad" or something etched on it. Hehehehe, I know I mentioned them a few pages back through Foetus covering "Behemoth", but that's not a direct mention. I loves me some TAD. Still have my copy of God's Balls bought when I was young-ish.
My first exposure was "Sex God Missy" from Sub Pop 200
(dangit, I love the multiple whammy bar solos)
A favorite I look up often just because it contains so many tones I love (and well, it's a pretty neato vid) is "Wood Goblins"
And well, partly because I found out about him on the same comp I found out about TAD from. And also because he apparently interviewed Tad Doyle once. Also, this poem kind of scares the bejeezus out of me on some levels. It's not for the faint of heart. It's very like a poem delivered by a street preacher who's probably a little dangerous, you might want to walk on. But dammit, even though I'm not certain what it's about, it's art. And damn, how do my lyrics compare to that?

I think my music search next weekend will be "lesser known grunge bands that I have missed", I never investigated the ""genre"" much, aside from the bands I knew back then.
I don't know if you are familiar with them, but one of the great lesser known bands from back then are Cop Shoot Cop (who had two bass players, but have a synth, so maybe more D-rock than grunge-y):
