I saw Clutch open for Tad in Kansas City in 94 or 95. Great show. If I remember right, Clutch opened, then Tad played, then the local support band played.
BTW I'm browsing a list right now and jeeeeesus... There are so many bands I didn't want to remember
Hehehee, it was a genre that became commercialized and awful remarkably quickly after Nirvana. Anything that is a first release by a "grunge" band after Nevermind came out is almost surely awful. But then again, 90% of everything is crap, so.
It reminds me of what Mark Arm said in Metal Evolution:
Mark Arm: Like what the F<beep> is this? And if those bands have grunge influences and somehow I'm responsible for grunge, F<beep>ing kill me.
ME: Why do you feel that way?

I mean, I'm surely no Christian. But the dude knows how to verbally condemn something. I'm sure if Covid-19 had feelings, it would use them to feel really chastized right now. The guy setting it to music follows his tempo changes really well, though!

Yeah they sucked. Most of them sucked. And Mother Love Bone sucked even before Nirvana became famous

Any Dungeons & Dragons fans here? In two days I'll be playing D&D for the second time in my life. I'll be a Gnome, and likely a Bard, that's all I know now. My daughter will surely be an unwavering Dungeon Master.
The first time I played D&D I was 20, and I'm 53 now. So it seems I do this every 33 years, or 3x per century. Do you have a thing you practice three times per century?

That musta been a hell of a show. There's a ton of bands I'd kill to have been able to see in their prime.

I played in High School, picked it up again last year (25 years later) due to lockdown. Now playing as Dungeon Master for a weekly game...we are doing the Curse of Strahd adventure. Definitely appropriate for DOOOOOOMY bass lines and fuzz noise. We use Roll20 and D&DBeyond to play virtually...
It's been a fun enough alternative to weekly band practice. Hopeful that will start again soon!
Funny note about D&D, when I worked in a local max security prison doing mental health work, they had to ban D&D bc the inmates were using it to pass notes/info.
