This is the part that annoys me the most: "nothing wrong trying to capitalize just like the band themselves getting back together for money." You want to sell a bass? Fine. You want to ask a lot of money for it? Fine. But don't take pot shots at the band.

Yeah that's not cool, especially since I've read that Al has tried to buy that bass back in the past.

Guy must be a pretty big "fanboy" himself to buy that bass all those years ago and still own it without selling it for weed or beer money.

Small rant, but I'm quite annoyed by Cioks' mounting kit for the older Pedaltrain boards. Freaking rivets? Like I have a shaging rivet gun available?

I'm not Mr. Antiques Road Show, but $8,800 seems a bit steep. And for that money I wouldn't put it past someone to buy a Rick of the correct year, give it a green sparkle refinish, and a bit of relic job. Even with the labor involved $8,800 has to provide a nice profit margin. (When I went back to double-check I was correct about the asking price, Craigslist says the post has been deleted by its author.)

And who knows, maybe Al is zen enough to not care too much about the past. Plus he does have his own Rick made to his specs now.

I will say this. It does seem like something that's almost too specific to fake, which adds to the peculiarity.

But yes, I've seen $3 bills that were more believable than that posting.

I've seen $3 bills that were more believable than that posting.

In 1989 I went to Russia, and found out they had actual three Ruble bills. Took some getting used to.
