Got a new fuzz today. It's pretty hairy from about halfway up on the fuzz knob and will go to glitchy murder when maxed, but still has the capability to be smooth with the knob below that. The sculpt switch will make it go very super-fuzz, and the tone stage gives you pretty wide control. I don't think it will replace the Fuzz War for my go-to fuzz at home, but I really like it from what little I've played with it so far. It doesn't cut the bass frequencies at all from what I can tell.

What classic octave fuzz circuit is it based off of? I have no idea. Why's it called the Eisenhower Fuzz? My only guess is because it's German for "iron hewer", but I'm probably wrong. It also comes with the very nice leather bag in the picture. Why include that with a pedal that comes pre-beat up? I dunno. You can always put your weed in it.

Either way, I've got a lot of fuzz pedals, and I'm pretty dang happy with this addition to them. I also got another Mystery Pedal from Idiotbox last week. But I'm not sure if Novarocker has received his yet, and I don't want to spoil the surprise.

Just got it Friday. Hell of a pedal! This and the phaser are taking my pedal board and blowing it up. How he manages to create semi predictable glitchiness in a lot of his pedals is crazy. Will at times have an envelope feel, or rhythmically bounce emphasis between harmonics based on where you are on the fretboard. Has me debating whether to keep my meatbox or the mxr sub fuzz. Tone control is great to boot.

I'm really on the fence about it too, oddly enough. The fuzz is sick, but I dig being able to mix different dirt with my octave pedals. So who knows, may have to pass that one to someone who'll get more out of it. Badass name and graphics, real fitting to the killer sound.

Just so everyone knows what we're talking about, it's the Gargalactic Blaster.

It is not subtle. I bet that it would not only kill a cow at thirty paces, it'd also slice it up and cook it to medium rare.

But I also don't know what all is going on inside this thing. Even with the fuzz knob all the way down, your signal is saturated. The fuzz brings a hell of a fuzz, but it's like it's in parallel with the already saturated signal the thing creates by default. The sub and octave knobs both bring (duh) other octaves into play, but they're also pretty extreme. Using it on organ is really crazy. I'll hit high C on the KB, and it'll sound off like I'm at the other end due to the octaves it's generating. Really a crazy, and yeah, glitchy pedal. There's something that seems like it's time based going on, too. But I'll be damned if I know what it is.

It's really a great Mystery Pedal, and I thank him for doing them.

The Eisenhower will get you within the super-fuzz ball park with the sculpt switch on, but I don't think it's based off of it. I've never used an Ace Tone, so I can't really say on that one. Either way, it's a damn nice fuzz.

The one based ont he Foxx Tone Machine is the 3699 fuzz. I've got one ordered, but I wasn't paying attention, and it's back-ordered. I'm a genius. I have high hopes for it, the 3699 has a foot switch for the octave!

Yeah the Garglactic is a hell of a pedal. There does seem to be way more going on in the background than meets the eye. I've been curious if it is using a fixed freq. PLL maybe? But that's a throw way out of left. All I know it is rad, and I dig how the tone really pulls out how the whole thing sits in a mix.

My band just released our new video from our upcoming EP. For those interested, this was my Spector Euro 435LX (it has the US Haz 9v preamp in it) split to two channels, a Reddi Tube DI for clean and Bergantino B|amp for dirt.

At least some of the reviews of the Eisenhower say its based on the Superfuzz. Looks like they added treble/bass knobs to the basic desgn. If it nails superfuzz tonez, I dunno. Oh yeah, I've got a Red/Blue Univox Super-Fuzz (sadly, it's sick and needs a trip to the doctor). The Eisenhower in the same extreme family as it and the Foxx Tone Machine (which I've also seen reviews claim it's based on). But the Super-Fuzz is a little throatier, and with more frying pan spit in the sound.

Hehehe, I didn't even think about that until I was going to bed. But as an US'er, I can't imagine naming my fuzz pedal after that guy. I totally respect him, he certainly knew how to be a commanding officer. But his name is in contrast to "extreme fuzz", in my mind. I mean, just look at him. He looks like he's going to nice his way across Europe, instead of sending waves of armies. Of course, he did do the latter.

That turned into one hell of a thread. I get a few haha's, but man while reading it I was starting to wonder if there was going to be even one straight answer. What's actually funny, yet sad, is that if it was a dad rock or something thread that went south like that it would go much differently and not in a better way IMO.

Don't panic! It's one of my favorite series. Quirky humor, with odd bits of insight and sarcasm. Easy to read, but not a "pulp" book by any stretch.

I feel the Doom Room would appreciate the fictional band Disaster Area from that universe, who are credited with being not only the loudest band, but the loudest thing in existence.

Yeah imagine if the thread was about relic jobs or if the "jokes" were directed at Mesa gear...

Ironically, when I posted in that thread about mods tolerating trolling just because it was directed at something less popular with the TB masses, my post got deleted and all the others didn't. Sure, some of them were "jokes" but there were also some that would fall into the definition of trolling in any other thread. But oh well, it's just the Internet.
