Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Eh, like I said...Internet.You violated the "no discussing mod decisions" rule.
And that's why I only lurk on TB, aside from this thread. There's a real hive-mind type response to certain ideas/opinions/etc here. Not worth the headache.
I'm being rebellious. I have tuned the bass I use in my Stoner band back to normal instead of D Standard. (The guitarists tune to D Standard.) For songs that go lower I'll tune my E string down to D; I ordered a Hipshot Xtender for this which arrived today.
My main reason for this is that I want to be able to use this bass for other stuff whenever I feel like it, without having to first retune the whole bass. Also, the bass sounds a bit better this way, but I may be imagining that.
Rehearsal on Saturday, so I'll find out if this offends them. I may need to take my own advice I gave earlier in this thread. ("Tell them all the notes are there. Stare them down.")

Tonight my first rehearsal in months! Maybe almost a year. Can't wait! So many new pedals to annoy my guitar players with! 
Edit: which brings a question to mind. Our drummer left us, so we don't have one. I've been thinking about some kind of drum machine for now. Anybody experience with pedal sized drum machines?

I would notice due to I watch others when I play and what they are fretting. I would notice his fretting on the standard tune strings would be a full step off. However, it wouldn't bother me. As long as the right notes / chords are being hit, it doesn't matter to me how it's being fretted.

why would that offend anyone?
Because some people are very principled about how a band tunes: all guitars and basses MUST be tuned the same way. I suppose these guys will be cool with it, but I don't know them well enough yet to be certain.
I'm quite sure that if I don't say a thing, one of them will see it within half an hour.

I didn't know it was called an Eisenhower matrix, but I use something similar to log software bugs and features. So, indeed not totally useless

My band played our first (I guess only sorta) post-covid show tonight. It was pretty great, we played a few clams, but a good show overall. We'd been working on tightening up the set, and we got quite a few compliments.
If I have one regret it is that the headliners, the Me-Thinks, revealed their cover of my favorite Cheap Trick song, that I've wanted to work up a version of for awhile. Theirs isn't released yet, so here's the original. It's power pop as hell, but it rules.

So, a casualty of our last show was my singer/rhythm guitarist's pedal board. He dropped it in the parking lot, and one of the Me-Thinks found it, but not before it had been run over by someone.The board itself actually looks worse, but only two pedals were harmed.
I'll probably just re-home both of them, but he put the bug in my brain to re-home them both in one box. We'll see how adventurous I get after I have them and get a chance to open them up and see how ugly it is in person. Either way, it's an excuse to buy a nicer soldering gun.
So I think I've got a problem heh! I keep picking up pedals and even though I've flipped most I won't use, I realize that there's some I love and want to keep, but I just don't know if I could justify keeping them. Worst of all the ones I'm really on the fence about, are pretty damn rare and really deserve the amount of use I won't get close to. That and with the prices in lumber, I need some more funds to get the wood I need to finish my prototype...
If anyone is interested in the Gargalactic or the blessed mother OD/bendable fuzz let me know. I have a bad feeling I'm gonna end up putting e. On Reverb just to have some flipper turn around and put it up for double...
In other news my kiddos effing love trying to play along with records together!
Oh and somehow this followed me home, damn good for $20.
Oh damn, sounds awesome having em in the same housing!
