Absolutely not stoner/doom, but I am sexually aroused by Dan Deacon's body of work. He's the synth god I'd pray to if that was my kind of thing. Having awesome videos doesn't hurt, either.

Really, he's probably why I own any synths. Every computer I've owned could be used as a synth. Even my Commodore VIC-20 could do very rudimentary synthesis, but I didn't want to start playing with it until I heard Dan Deacon.
And in the world of "Damn, how did I go so long without knowing about THEM?", I found out about Brainiac from the same guy I found out about Dan Deacon from, so about 2008. When I want to be challenged and go "Damn. Music can be that abrasive and that catchy at the same time?", I listen to them some. Even trying to figure out what they're doing can be inspirational (such as the vocal processing on this song, which I imagine is run through a synth).
Also, UPS's package tracking sits on a THRONE OF LIES! My Matriarch got to Arlington, which is about 14 miles from where I live, and then the status for today went to "Severe Weather Delay". It was 80F and sunny outside.
I guess they don't have a status of "Look, we're busy. We'll get to it, OK?", but I wish they did.

I’ve decided on the clean/dirty route. I have an Arkham preamp (baxandall stack works better with the aluminum neck) into the fx return of the matamp, into a berg nv2x15 for the clean side. And then the traynor/1979 pre into the mesa tube power section, into the berg nv4x12 for the dirty side. It’s sounded absofahkinlutley mint at the last couple practices and the new halberd is an amazing dirt pedal that I’d recommended a million times over, girth and grind forevereverever.

So YOB and True Widow are coming thru here in ~2 weeks. I haven't been to a show in years and I don't know if I'm just lazy or just not really giving a damn about music lately. Though I still look @ Craigslist for the gear dealz and for people to play with, though I hardly even play on my own. JEEEEZ!
Doesn't sound like laziness to me. It may just be that you've gotten out of these shows what was in it for you. If you're into music you'll find ways to enjoy music. Let life run its course.
I love music, yet I didn't play for years at one point. I ended up trying new instruments. Stuck with bass (So far.)
I haven't picked up a bass in 6 months or more...no desire to go back to it at this point to be honest.
