I'm hoping the hassle will be small. (Hoping being the operative term.) The "small amp on big amp" approach should only take a few minutes to dial everything in, since I use a very simple signal path (bass-->SansAmpBDDI-->Effect return on amp.) After that it's some knob-twisting and go.

Haunt is great, good call.

On the topic of Impossible Burgers, has anyone noticed any appreciable difference in taste/texture between Beyond and Impossible? My wife insists they are essentially the same, but I think Beyond is better but I have no idea why.

If the two are different, to my palate, it's very minimal. Add any condiments and the difference will disappear. I did have my favorite style of Impossible last night: fried egg, hash brown, lettuce, tomato, American cheese.

Anyone running OBC112 or 115 in here? Trying to decide if splurging for the 2 OBC112s is worth it over just one 115? I like only having to carry one, albeit heavy, cab around in my car as opposed to two smaller, lighter cabinets.

For reference, I'm running a Standard P-Bass into a Terror Bass.

I like Beyond quite a bit better but I'm fine with Impossible as well. I describe it as Beyond reminds me of a good high end burger and Impossible reminds me of a good greasy spoon burger.

Can't say I've had enough to know any difference, but I DO remember an interesting tidbit about the concepts of "meatless" meat I learned a few years ago. As with any product, there are different ideologies behind them. Some brands purposely want to make a tasty burger that simply has no meat (which may or may not be natural or human-engineered) - but isn't necessarily healthier in any appreciable way. Others make a product that is focused on being environmentally sustainable, and still others focus on being vegetarian/vegan. I feel like perhaps the differing ideologies of the companies would naturally steer the end product in certain ways, which may be why there are different preferences amongst consumers.

Makes sense. Never thought about that angle, to be honest. I was just so happy that someone invented a burger that, to me, very closely resembled a meat (boo!!) burger in taste. In honor of transparency, I did not stop eating meat for any health reasons, purely philosophical.

I'd try asking in the Orange club thread. Sort of depends what you want. I think two OBC112's will still weigh less than the 115, which seems like a tank for "heavy duty professional use". Which is louder? I dunno.

How was the show?

Anyone have weekend plans? I'm hitting NIN at Red Rocks tonight, am playing a fest in Fort Collins on Saturday w/ Suicide Cages called Co-Opted Farm Fest 3, and chilling for the rest of the weekend... BBQ, newest House of the Dragon, new LotR show... you know, chilling.

Hell yeah! Atm Im driving the Akai Unibass UB1 with a gnarly fuzz AFTER it. I heard it dont take it so well having it before it, but should try that too. I love the sound it does! Using it into the guitar rig with the Matamp GT2 and a 412 cab, using the fifth octave up.

It glitches sometimes randomly and makes it sound out of tune when doing a powerchord for example, using two strings, and a bit more using three.

And it dont seem to hold the sustain well. The tone just farts out a bit too quickly. Wish I found a way to make it hold the sustain even longer!

But I have a used POG 2 on the way, so lets see what I end up with.

I think I will try to do what Kyle in the band Zaum does, and have two pedalboards, one for each amp, but having it on one big board. I find it hard to really nail the tone Im after with all the eq knobs. But Im defo getting there slowly! Its a mix of heavy fast, and slow and lo riffing with some ambient parts also. So there is alot to think about haha

@themarshall I got around to getting some stuff together for you with some parts from my somewhat extensive stock. I tossed in an assortment of diodes, a few different transistors, a couple enclosures and some IC's. I also tossed in two LM308's. My only request with those is that you build a RAT or two. ;)

Any of you fine folks tune down a whole step as your standard tuning? I'm wondering which gauge I should aim for with my 5 string. I really like my D'Addario 5 string set (light) on one of my basses, and am thinking of getting their medium set for my other 5 string which will likely be set up permanently in D standard. My main concern is to keep the strings a little more tense instead of floppy. I'm also trying to avoid custom or expensive sets - just a standard, readily available set please.

And in related findings - according to the internet, nobody stocks medium gauge strings in store anymore? What? It's not THAT out there, is it? Maybe tomorrow I'll go and check in person, but online inventory isn't showing any.

Are you wanting a five string set for ADGCF or are you wanting a five string set to use for DGCF?
