so looking forward to catching this one on Boston. I’ve seen cave in so many times by now, it’s absurd.
Nice. The announcement a couple weeks ago rekindled my non-stop listening to Heavy Pendulum. I think it's a perfect record...

Anybody recognize an eBay scam like this? Novel incoming!
A seller offers a 'used once' item. I buy it, and it shows up w/ postage due (it weighed ~5lbs more than what the seller put on the label). Like a moron I pay the shipping balance just to get the box and get on w/ it. Opening it up, it's obvious there's not adequate packing material in the box. Luckily there's no cosmetic damage, but upon using the widget it's clear it's defective in operation.
I'm suspicious the seller knew this, and decided to pawn it off on someone else. Their eBay rating is like 5. I've got over 600, all positive.
I initiate a refund w/ eBay & pack it all back up (better than the seller did), ship it w/ the eBay supplied return label. eBay refunds me but not for the extra postage I paid for. I informed the seller about all this before I even started the return process = crickets. So the seller gets his widget back and now demands $$$ because they claim the widget is physically damaged, and the widget's accessories are missing. I tell the seller to take it up w/ the post office or eBay, I returned it in the same condition w/ improved packaging. What the hell else am I supposed to do? I could've (should've would've) just ignored this clown.
I think I'm done w/ eBay. /rant

it sucks. I had something similar happening to me in my twenties. A strong headache after only half a glass or something. I didn't drink for a few years and nowadays maybe two or three glasses a week. For years, I've been in the habit of drinking. Very measured, you know, mostly just one glass of wine or beer over dinner. Not if I have to drive afterwards. Seems a harmless habit to me.
But recently, I noticed something strange. I had trouble emptying that one glass. It had become too much. Also, I got up with a headache every morning. I tried, and the headache is definitely linked to the alcohol.
With some difficulty I convinced myself to stop daily drinking. As luck would have it, I was almost at the end of a case of beer. Now I'm left with this bottle of Dutch Old Gin, strong stuff that I've always drunk only on rare occasions.
Yesterday evening, around 10 PM, was such an occasion. I felt good, healthy and balanced. I felt like it. So I poured myself a glass of the gin. The rest of the evening went well, but this morning I woke up with a headache.
Now I can't ignore the signs anymore. It's time to stop. Looks like yesterday I drank the last alcohol of my life. I'm 55.

Don't be sad. There will always be substances and ways to end your life much earlier.
Anyone here try an Orange Super Crush 100 or Crush Pro 120? Looking to use it for baritone guitar and as the treble amp on bass.
YOB touring with Cave In is like a wet dream. Stoked for the Denver gig. That is all...

I've cut back quite considerably the past 6 months, not that I ever drank TONS. But I had a recent health scare, and the doctor thought maybe alcohol was a factor. (It wasn't - they were clearly grasping at straws given how little I drank, and even they all but admitted this.) Anyway, I had honestly been looking for a compelling reason to cut back, but as has also been noted, it's so normalized that it's insane. So after having to completely cut it out for a few months, and trying the current selection of N/A stuff (which HAS gotten quite good!), I only really drink one night a week. And then typically only 2, maybe 3 tops. Honestly, the best part of it has been the savings in my checkbook. I even got my wife on board, which has been a big struggle, as she just didn't want to give it up. So now that we're both sticking to once a week or so, it makes it more of an adventure to go out and have one. She keeps N/A stuff in the fridge, which satisfies her hankering for the flavor, but she ends up drinking less N/A than she did regular. So even though most decent N/A is about as expensive as regular, we're buying and drinking less, and trying out new locations with new brews when we DO go out and have a drink. I have about 10 or so various beers in my fridge, but have no problem NOT drinking them. Of course, we also have had some minor health benefits too!For years, I've been in the habit of drinking. Very measured, you know, mostly just one glass of wine or beer over dinner. Not if I have to drive afterwards. Seems a harmless habit to me.

100% agree. An old buddy smokes - I have to shower every time I come home after seeing him.I have to say that I hate smoking much more than drinking. My three band mates are all smoking heavily and after band practice I smell like an ash tray, my nose ist swollen shut, my eyes are burning and my clothes have to go to the washing machine right away.![]()
