Yeah, the HM-2. The pedal no one liked until Swedish Metal took off, then they were hard to find.
The HM-2 was the dime everything pedal, and it was death metal, not black metal. Think Entombed's Left Hand Path. Originally that pedal was made to emulate a cranked Marshall full stack... it failed miserably at that and didn't sell well originally so they discontinued it. It got a cult following because of the Swedish chainsaw tone so they eventually reissued it as the HM-2W. A great pedal, I like the Waza better than the originals. The MT-2 Metal Zone can get somewhat similar at certain settings but has more EQ range than most would ever need.

Early Carcass and Napalm Death have been in heavy rotation here lately.
I thought I'd post my pedalboard for fun. Been doing a doom-style setup using the Royal Blood thing with octave up. Been super fun so far and layering the Grey Stache with the CMC Effects Sunn Preamp has been absolutely crushing. Currently at 3 songs about 25 minutes of music going to do 2 more then vocals and put it out!
They're great bands. Pretty early to the extreme music club.
OK - maybe I have heard some Crowbar before. So to my (again likely uninformed) ears, it sounds like a sort of traditional doom with harsher vocals? Maybe a bit brighter or more grating distortion? I'll need to listen to more in the near future. I don't dislike it, but I think I'd categorize it under "doom" in my simplified playlists. Much like how I classify all sorts of black metal as "black metal", so that I get the breadth of the entire genre in a single playlist.
Figured y'all would appreciate this. We're finally moving to a new practice space where we can set up the full setup. Drums are on the way.
Am I the only weirdo that likes trying to setup room mics to see if you can get a cool mix with just placement when the band moves into a new room? One of the many fun things I miss about playing with others. What pedals are you using I can't quite make out what you're running from this angle.
We've got a lot of inputs to play with, so there will be some money spent on mics shortly.

He's kind of a mad engineer with the rigs he builds. I just bring what are shockingly small 2x12 cabs.
I've been using it a little bit less because I've been using boost on the MBD more. I need to set the 'storter at more extreme levels. It's pretty tame currently.
Jeez, like can you even hear yourself with all the other cabs? Are those for guitars only or PA too?
I forsee some kind of room treatment in your future (walls/ceiling). I'll put down the cork I've been sniffing during this post now.

It's not a volume war. Both the dudes like the bass up front. Guitar player runs stereo out of his guitar into a Headrush Prime and then to two amps. The cabs all have two 12" in them. And the dual Genzlers are no slouch... believe me.
