Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I mentioned before that it's been a while since I picked up my bass.

I've recently discovered Monolord. Well, I saved a couple songs of their on Spotify before but I only recently went and started listening to the albums. I got "Rust" stuck in my head so I looked up a tab and picked up the bass to learn it.

Anyway, that's my update. This is still my favorite thread here.

Cool band alert: Psychlona out of the UK. Riff-y stoner, not really doomy.
Love Psychlona. I suppose I'll just dump a bunch of (what I assume) are lesser-known stoner rock/doomy bands I've come across recently and really dig. Hell, for all I know, I found them here. I'm not good at keeping up with much of anything and my memory is shot.
Purple Lung
Steak
1000mods
Bonzai
High Reeper
Duneeater
Freedom Hawk
Luggy Ton

(and a shameless plug)

Priya's Hammer

Hey, that's my band! We made a list! Thanks for the plug.

(Check out our new project OBSOLETE MEATS)
Bro are you fkn kidding me? I sent a link of your stuff to a buddy and he lost his fkn MIND. You guys…idk what to say…not worthy to speak to you directly.

Edit: one single bar of Obsolete Meats made me crack a cheap beer.

Been a wild few weeks here. Barely been able to play, or even think of playing or doing much of anything relaxing. Got to play for a few minutes the other day, and had the itch to try my bass board on guitar just because, and came to a strange revelation:

I could probably do with only a single board. My fuzz (CMC Bubble Font), "Rat" (Dunwich Volt Thrower clone), "HM-2" (Bear Amps Heavier Metal) and low gain (Dunwich ODB clone or modded Pork Loin) all work on both guitar and bass on nearly identical settings, or with incredibly simple tweaks. The biggest change of these pedals is to flip one of the switches on the Heavier Metal - the others are almost literally identical settings on both guitar and bass - maybe a tweak in volume. Really, the only tones/pedals that don't work for both are my generic "metal" pedals. Those are the Damnation Audio MBD-2/Ibanez PD7 on bass and Rivera Metal Shaman/Amptweaker TightMetal Pro on guitar. And both of those pedals could also be covered by the Volt Thrower, as it can do similar tones to each.

Of course, this does NOT mean I'll be downsizing my boards... While each pedal works on either instrument, my different boards are definitely better than dual use pedals. But I could certainly do with a single board if needed. Thankfully, it's not!

I have recently been considering ways to downsize my board. There's definitely stuff on there I don't use.
