Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Think of it like this:

Tube Rectifier = Classic Marshall/Fender style classic rock style tones, there's a bit of sag and bloom - a microsecond or two of delay between the time that you hit the strings and the time that the note comes out of the speaker.

Solid State Rectifier was invented by Mesa to satisfy the thrash metal guys that needed a tighter, quicker response so that they could play fast without it sounding like a wall of mush.

That's how it was explained to me anyway.

This. Also you can use more than 1 tube rectifier to tighten things up, hene dual rectifiers and triple rectifiers.

Bass amps generally use ss rectifier except for older low wattage tube amps.

Haha damn. They must have JUST turned on the firewall as I was responding to Max's post. I am locked out again...posting from my phone now.

Anyways, I was having issues with ILF, but it seems that they're squared away now. Have you tried posting there the last few days?

Welcome back tony!

For the guys who also post on ILF, have you been having these server problems? I haven't been able to get on in a couple weeks, makes me sad I cant whore out my wall of Peavey.

I wasn't having any problems with it while most people were posting about it on FB, but it just to get that Google redirect thing occasionally the other day.
