Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Its a fine morning for some Peavey whoring...

And for askrere, I give you Peavey Henge

So naturally I ran everything at once and honesty I was quite underwhelmed. I think that it was because it was so loud, the sheer volume was overtaking the fullness/tone of the sound. Just running the 2 cab setup I do for VEGA has perfect proportions of volume to tone. So running everything is a bit much and probably won't do it a whole lot. But the new 412 sounds decent for bass but absolutely kills on guitar. The PA200 with 412 is a great combo, from chimey cleans to all out sludge straight in. Lots more dialing in to do.

Most TBers would say it was underwhelming since you where mixing speaker sizes. Phase cancelation blah blah blah...

I would say that after a certain amount of bass rigs are running together it seems to become less of a tone/sound and more of a force/feeling.

I remember the mrs. and I driving through TN once and seeing a billboard advertising "least invasive brain surgery..."

Health billboards are weird. I get plastic surgery ads. Though if I needed brain surgery chances are I'm quite aware of it (or I'm bonkers and my family is aware). Or I just don't need brain surgery.

So who the hell paid to remind us healthy drivers at 75mph of ancient inter cranial pressure relieving techniques.

Max, you need more Peavey. Then you can make a Peavey ziggurat.

Temple of doom.

Gonna take a few more cabs and a vagrant to sacrifice.

Yea. Maybe being a practice space your being assaulted by volume, whereas an audience might be far enough away to get that tone (and the volume).

That practice space got a crapier max? If it had wifi you could put a mattress on top of a cab and live amongst the peavey.

I have one of those 2 knobbers as well. but cant help you since I plugged it in, quacked like a duck, then put the pedal away because couldn't figure out how that sound would be useful. and battery covers on DOD pedals are super rare
I hope my DOD delay power plug holds out. The 1/4" power adapters are mega rare and this pedal devours 9volts like it's the last supper.

I need to figure out why my looper wasn't acting right with the rat pedal. I haven't hit the limit on my one spot, so that should be interesting to play with. My board got stripped down for the recording. Producer didn't want anything in the board that I didn't absolutely have to have. Got to put it back together tonight. Also, playing the p bass tonight. Got her all ready for a b string. Shifted everything down one and put the G in the B's place for now, to keep some tension there. Make it quicker to swap when I get to the space. Found pickup covers on eBay for under $2. Just have to measure to check for sizing. I had no clue that P pickups had so many different sizes. Seems weird, but whatever.

Joe, drummer is taking care of your shirt. Thanks for the support. Here's what the front looks like incase anyone else wanted one. $15 will get it shipped in the US.

Got to work on some art for the cover, decide on album name, and all the fun stuff that goes with making a record. We need some pro pictures of the band too. Soon! Still Valley has been on a roll lately and we just got asked to open for Jucifer. Working in new songs tonight!

TLIF, y'all!

If you make him the sacrifice it's a one stop trip to finish it.

Good idea.

Heavy Tetris. Keep yer hands offa my stack!

Lifting my EVM 215 and my folded 18 up onto those cabs was a feat of strength. And its been decided, youre my sacrifice to Tony Iommi.

You make it seem like I wasn't being serious. Buy more Peavey Max, buy ALL THE PEAVEY.

It is what I was born to do. My life goal, build my house out of Peavey amps and cabs.
