Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

My clean tone doesn't sound like his, but the Demon can make good.

I did not know about the "full volume" trick. Not sure how I'll swing that without making my drummer cry, should be fun either way. :bassist:
*** is it about drummers and Bass effects? Lately ours has given up on me... No more *** you got going on there now comments. Every time we get together I've changed something. Yesterday it was a little stale from the guitar and he had to put his korg AX1-G in play to satisfy. So at least this round I didn't get the *** comments.

One of these moons I'll sit down with my AX1-B and get some decent tones out of it. Would be nice to have one tone tool to pull out of the gig bag and not a PT1 with 8 pedals on it.

I'm going to bee line there if I ever make it back... Place just sounds sick. Jealous to those close enough to drop in.

I first learned of it from the Diners, Drive-ins & Dives Food Network program, so I was a little worried it'd be overly kitschy, but I was very happy the first time I went. The 2nd location, Kuma's Too, is the same menu but a more suburbs-friendly version; I prefer the more bar-like location.

So many better burger spots in Chicago than Kuma's.

Lockdown
Rocking Horse
Bad Apple
DMK
Owen and Engine
Fatso's Last stand (if you're into grill charred burger)
Goose Island used to make this amazing burger topped with deep fried goat cheese and an onion marmalade, sadly it's no longer on their menu
and while I haven't been to Leadbelly yet, my friend who knows his food said it was awesome.

Can't remember how I heard of it a few years back. Didn't know about the second location. I think it was mentioned a few times on Invisible Oranges...
We lived in the Chicago Suburbs in the 80's. Some great food choices in that area and people are generally friendly as opposed to Manhattan or other metros.

I have no clue what it sounds like but I want this pedal. Dexter could keep Ron FN Swanson company.

Thanks for this list, my wife and I are always looking for new spots to eat when we visit Chicago - it can be hard to choose when you have no idea where to start.
