It seems to me that Florida has historically had zero for a heavy music scene. Torche moved to ATL, and I'm pretty sure Brass Castle is in Portland now. Can't think of another active heavy band from the sunshine state. Forgive me if I'm wildly misinformed or outdated but that's been my impression for 20 years.
Oh yeah, Kareem Abdul Babar and Tron were from Tallahassee which is 'technically' the capital of Florida but is actually in South Georgia.
I'm gettin old.
It seems the warmer it gets the less likely you are to have heavy bands...maybe latin america is the exception, but they are just crazy.
Punk... Yeah, those dudes could throw down the heavy!
Kinda got that feeling. What's there to be doomy about with sunshine & bikini chicks?
WHOA. No heavy bands from Florida? Maybe not stoner/doom bands, but there are a lot of amazing death metal bands from there.
Cannibal Corpse, Death, Decide, Atheist, The Absence, Hate Eternal, Morbid Angel, Iced Earth, Cynic, etc. Death Metal was practically founded in Florida. Also, Georgia is not far from Florida, and they have a killer sludge scene.
Maybe you should move to Florida and start a Disney-themed sludge band, I dont think I've seen one of those yet.
I'm only talking about stoner/doom/sludge/noise. Never been a lot of that in FL.
Lowest End said:So I'm going to try to re-incorporate my Big Muff Pi pedal into my setup. I haven't used it in forever, and never used it with what is now my rig.
Anyone use this one? It isn't the Bass Big Muff.
