Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part Ten - What is this thread about again?

Got my copy of the Dopesmoker re-issue today. I went with the CD/t-shirt package, since I don't have a functioning black circle spinner these days.

Sounds pretty good so far. (I was worried, the early clip I heard made the guitar sound really weak).

I can't decide between this, the new black breath, new black cobra, or other. Anyone care to weigh in? That limited shirt is SWEET.

I haven't tried the RAT with a clean blend, no. I don't have one, I've been scoping them out for a while. I've been looking at dirt pedals with clean blends for the past year, but I have so many random fuzz, OD and dist pedals already I figure it'd probably be more cost effective to just buy a good blend. It just takes me forever to pull the trigger on new gear, I'm a saver and researcher. It's definitely in the cards soon though, it keeps coming up over and over.

I used the RAT at Cold Mourning practice tonight. We're working on a new song that has a short little bass intro and I'm doing a lot of Geezerish fills on it, so it needs some grit. I was switching back and forth between my muff clone and the RAT and consensus was the RAT was the one, even though it did have less low end punch to it. It would probably be fine to just crank up the low end a bit to compensate, although I'd prefer to have more control on my pedalboard, since I don't leave it on all the time. Did someone just bring up the Thumpinator recently in here? I've been thinking about getting one. I was looking for some kind of fixed high pass filter to cut sub 20 HZ frequencies from my rig forever. I was just going to have someone make me one custom for a while, so I was psyched to find out about the Thumpinator recently. I get a lot of sub flub from various cabs that drives me nuts. No one else ever notices or cares, but I hear everything with an engineer/producer's ear. I saw that company also has a bi-amp clean blend, which is another thing I wanted to try but couldn't find anywhere. Although I guess it's not currently for sale, dunno why.

Since ALL the tickets for the Black Sabbath gig sold out within 4 minutes, I guess I just found the money I need for my next pedal... Why they didn't book a stadium or something damn it.

Let's not forget that they are missing Bill Ward after all
