Stop me before I do something very very bad

I know I'm probably pitching this to the wrong crowd but maybe a voice of reason will bring me to my senses.

Every Friday I take my daughter to guitar lessons. Every Friday, I see an Ampeg SVT-CL with an 810 under it and close by an Ernie Ball Music Man.

The Ampeg has been there a while judging by the dust on it. The last time I sat with the MM in my hands just messing around the sales guy said to me 'You like the Music Man, do you?' He followed up with "we could probably do something for you with that'.

I have a very strong suspicion I could take all three home for about $3500. All brand new, all awesome, all mine.

As far as the money goes, It won't break me. I'd have to work some more overtime and likely sell some current gear, but I could swing it. As long as the excess gear left, the GF would approve. (I have a spare bedroom that is currently housing a complete PA setup, and 2 Bass rigs that can only be used for stage - a BXR 400 with 410 and 115 and a Firebass 700 with 1516 cab.

The GAS has me pretty hard. I've been aching for a tube head and the MM has an awesome feel. Maybe I'm just being starry-eyed.

Opinions are welcome, enabling comments will only get it in my house faster.

This is how it works for me.

At a certain point I know, deep down inside, whether or not something is going to be mine or not. There's a subtle "click" that I feel happen in my heart which reverberates all the way up to my skull. Once I realize that's there (sometimes takes a little useles argument from my lesser self), I just say screw it, stop torturing myself, and lay down the plastic. Our days are numbered. Why lose 2 or 3 days you can spend with what you really want. Better to have it sooner than later, because ultimately it gives you more time to enjoy it. Just do it.

have you actually played that pair yet, to make sure the magic isn't just in your head?

also, "accusatory giblet" would be a good name for a band.
