I use halfwounds on my fretless rick but i love the sound of the rotosounds on my Precision. I just don't like the damage they cause to the fretboard.
thunderstation said:Just a question. Why not use half-rounds on the precision.?
the reason I ask is that I have always used half rounds on my precision (1973 which I bought new)) and i haven't experienced any damage & I just put them on my MIM Jazz- It's a great sound although I have never used rotosounds.
thanks
Surly said:If you're looking for nickel rounds I would say check out Fender 7150's pure nickel for a nice P-tone.

ya, last year i came to terms with the fact that it says "lyte" on the headstock and i'm actually enjoying playing it.Those rounds you used on that Precision lyte sounded awesome, so I can see you skipping that chapter as well![]()

yep, fender precision lyte.Never heard of "lyte", is it a Fender?
I love the sound of the rotosounds on my 64 precision. My question is should I use the nickel or the stainless. I like a heavier string, but dont want to do too much damage to the fretboard: Any suggestions? .
hilarious! the guy wants rounds and everyone suggests flats. if the guy wanted flats, he'd have asked for flats.

My '63 sounds just faaaaaaabulous with 30-year old flats on it.
