Stuff you hate that young people like.

I don't know so much if I hate most of what the kids are doing these days, as much as I have to laugh at a lot of it, and remind myself that the youth culture of my day looked pretty strange and shallow, goofy, and even scary at times to my parents and their generation. If I do hate anything on a more serious note, I hate the pop culture glorification of gang culture and violence among a lot of youth as it is today. It maybe toned down some as of late, but it's still there.

Their blind naivete and thinking they know better than someone who has 10 times their experience, as can be seen by some examples on this thread.

I'm quite certain you never behaved like that. Noooooooo.

Right? I know I never did! Oh no. I was sooooo respectful and never thought I knew more than my folks did. No, no! Never!

Really! I mean it!

REALLY!

LOL! ;)

Blind naivete and a know-it-all attitude are ancient teenage traditions. They probably date back to the Neanderthals.

Who are we to frak with ancient traditions?

that may be but id be surprised to see many geezers skateboarding on a crowded sidewalk, driving a fart can honda boomboxonwheels ,or spray painting a building.

No. They drive so slowly as to be unsafe on the road. They are the one neighbor in a whole neighborhood that complains about the music at the bar and grill down the street, and calls the danged cops. They won't spraypaint a building, but they will complain about any public art that is outside their established tastes, and demand to have it removed. Even if its your art, in your yard.

Which is why I'm moving to Rockport, TX when I retire. Then I can go hang out with a bunch of other old, slow, grumpy people like myself, and we'll all drive to the local bar on our Hoverrounds. (Which is exactly what my Uncle Frank did, and yes, he goes to the bar on his old-man scooter.)

Has anyone given any thought to what will happen when we kids of the 1970's and 1980's go to the nursing homes? Any strategies on how to keep the danged orderlies from turning Led Zep or AC/DC down too low for our hearing aides to pick it up?

I go visit my mom at the asst. living place, and they have this karaoke couple who put on shows for them. They do country and old, pre-rock standards. I have a hard time picturing the same kind of thing for us. They'd probably do crappy junk, no rock, and I'd be the grumpy old woman who insists on sitting in her wheelchair with her oxygen tank and her headphones blasting "Highway to He11".

I plan on playing Led Zep covers when I'm in the Old Folks Home! :bassist: I'm gonna have my bass strapped on and plugged into my electric wheelchair and or walker with a full blown PA built in! I'll terrorize the entire place!!

But that's just me...

I just had a really odd visual of a much older me singing Zeppelin Karaoke and all the younger generations of my family are there to watch.

Oh, look! great, grand Chunk is doing his little lemon song again. EWWWWW, something really is running down his leg! Ahhhhhhhhh!

ROTFLMAO!!!

I'll have to make sure I'm wearing my Depends before I try "Rock & Roll" at that age.

And have a full tank of air.
