So this seems the most appropriate thread to post this.

Let's say you call a shop and ask if they can order this for you and they call back saying it will be there Monday, you call about 4 times and it's past the time they say it will be there (3 days). Finally you find a website that has what you want and you buy it.

Is it ok to not picking up said item from original place you ordered from?

If it was an unusual item, and perhaps something expensive they might have trouble selling, they could have taken a deposit from you, to cover their losses if you pull out. I'd assume they didn't do that because it's not going to be a problem.
