Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II

So no phase or noise issues?

I thought about that afterwards thinking I/we might need something like the Mesa Switch Tracker with its additional noise reduction, isolation, and phase switching. I was hoping not as it is more than the preamp pedal itself

No phase issues or noise issues at all.
I also used a headphone while testing and didn't hear any noise, but I am getting a little older so there is some hearing loss of the high frequencies.

Got mine this morning after a small fumble with USPS yesterday. After multiple years on the original Subway DI, this was on my Radar the second that there were some accidental listings earlier in the year.

Can't say enough good things about it. Sounds identical to the Subway straight out of the box. It only gets better when you start messing with your mids. I adore the HPF so, so much.

Had to leave any skepticism of product origins at the door, and it's was good to do so.

Only mystery to me is that I'm just not sure when I'm going to use the boost. This thing has enough on tap at 9v, haven't even thought about pushing to 12v or 18v.

Lol! That's exactly what I'm replacing. It's been worth every penny and has more than done it's job.

Submitting this humble board for your consideration.
For most live shows i'll take a cable out of the tuner to the 800D
The Subway DI will be on standby in this scenario if I have an issue with the amp DI( prob never).
For practice and the occasional acoustic/winery gig, i'll use a cable from tuner to Subway DI input and then to the PA.
Board is a nano, and powered by the cioks Sol.
The Subway DI looks like it's hanging over the nano, but it's not.

Lol! That's exactly what I'm replacing. It's been worth every penny and has more than done it's job.

I've had it for like 20 years now. I got it on sale for $20 new back then. It has worked out better than I expected. I had run it at times with a comp-limiter after it giving it more amp response and feel.

It is line level and should be able to drive most amps.

Got home late tonight, mine was waiting for me. Spoiler, its really, really good. Very quiet, fit and finish look great…. I bought this for clean, but what immediately caught my attention was how nice it sounds cranking the input - and the boost - I thought the boost was for a volume jump. Nope. Might be the magic knob. Tell us more about it Andy. It sounds like it adds some mids/low mids and harmonic content. It’s awesome.

Yes to those extremes. My boost and input look like yours today. My HPF and Voicing <>10:30, Bright and Deep are engaged to good effect. In a sea of disappointing tech, this is turning into a delightful surprise.

Our UHAULWFD (Ultra high and Ultra low weird frequency detector) approves of the new DI-Preamp. Five out of five chills given.

If your unit is anything like ours, you have to manage the chronic GAS though.
