Summer Build Off 2022 - Get Ready!

It's from Solo Music Gear. For the price of the template set, maybe just buy the set?

Not planning on a jazz body or neck, so $100 is a pretty hefty price to pay just for that one piece.

The cheaper $65 body set comes with it too, but even still, I'd think I should be able to find that one piece somewhere for half the price. Maybe not though

Well this is serendipitous. :smug:

Awesome! I've never actually played a headless before, but I've seen some neat looking ones.

I've been to the lumber store twice in the last 24 hours, just rough cut a body template from some scrap plywood, and I'm still uncertain if I'm going to enter or not lol

Dooo It, Dooo It, Dooo It, Dooo It, :woot:
If I don't do it now, I'll just do a non-Summer Build Off build in a bit.
Main thoughts right now are that I have no idea if wood I buy from the store will be good to go quick enough, or if it'll be way too moist, and also that I have no idea what I'm doing and maybe should do a bit more reading before jumping in.

Body I feel good about, neck building terrifies me

Pretty sure making a neck gives most people pause, at first. I definitely advocate "jumping in"! Do your reading, but then grab some wood and go to town!

You can always buy a neck and build the rest...

Well, yeah, obviously I could just buy a neck, but look at all these lovely neck woods my local store has!! The pull is strong.

I’m becoming a headless evangelist.
I couldn't think of a scripture reference for that, but I was sure there was one. Then,

"The headless evangelist" would make an interesting book title.
I LOL'd and wondered if I'd missed a Raymond Chandler novel.

I went to order a conventional bridge bridge for my attempt in the next WBO and was told it was discontinued. So, headless it will be especially as the Nova parts are way cheaper. Besides, been a headless fan since I first saw a Steinie.
