Budget cuts.Summer was always on the 21st? Is this something that changes??
The equinoxes and solstices can vary a little from year to year because celestial phenomena don't obey our timekeeping system, so for example the exact moment Summer starts is at a different time each year, and in some parts of the globe the moment that occurs might be June 20 and in other parts it might be June 21. Check Wikipedia's entry on solstice for more info than you could possibly want.I thought the first day of Summer was always on the 21st? Is this something that changes?? I keep discovering things that I thought I knew that turn out to be complete crap and it's making me a little paranoid.![]()
TODAY!?!, Crud, I got conscripted to overhaul my wife's table saw tonight. I'm actually going to the office tomorrow and then going to a business event tomorrow evening. I might not post a wood pile pic until Thursday. I could change my plans three times by then. Two Things:
1. turns out first day of summer is today this year. No idea why I put down June 22 except that's what Google told me months ago. My google-fu sucks. So the SBO will begin today. I updated the first post already.
2. I got called back into work today from vacation to address some urgent crap. Yay health care slavery! On top of that, I got spirited into a 1500h meeting that ends at 1600h. So then I have to drive home and post up the start thread. It will be closer to 1630h, my apologies.
The good news is, everyone gets an extra 23.5 hours!![]()
I'm fortunate that most of my work on bass stuff so far has been while pretending to work at the office lolI'm actually going to the office tomorrow and then going to a business event tomorrow evening.
Coworker said his brother lost an inch off of his middle finger the other day - got it caught in a sewer snake. Never heard that one before, but goes to show there are many, many, ways to screw up....Losing digits is no joke.
I heard frost bite digs in at around 58-60* F out that way.
What, Kelvin?a nightmarish 65 degrees

Everything's relative. I'm happy here in a t-shirt mowing my lawn at 18 degrees. Back when I lived in Edmonton's winter wonderland, I was happy mowing my lawn in a t-shirt at 15 degrees.
18 and 15 is 64.4F and 59F for anyone living in Myanmar.![]()
Funny. I’m working in Phoenix and live in Austin. Anything over 87 sucks.![]()
Oh yeah, and massive housing and drug addiction/overdose problems.
Okay I'm very thankful for our relatively balmy weather. Its around 19-25 (66-77) most of the summer here with some warmer periods. Lots of sea breezes in the evenings through the urban forest. It's idyllic and I'm grateful.Oh yeah, and massive housing and drug addiction/overdose problems.

We have that in Austin, too![]()
