Sunbeams. How good are they for slap?

Hi all

I just purchased a pj5, and I'll be using it in a 80s hair rock show (Bon jovi, white snake, GnRs etc)
In short I need good finger and pick tones, but I need to slap for a couple of songs... So how will the sunbeams perform?

Will they get the job done or should I be looking at something else?

Of course they'll get the job done. You can slap any string. They sound great, a little darker sounding than stainless strings but still bright. Nice feel- smooth, medium/light tension.

Thanks guys, I was thinking I would load her with chromes, but I think I want a little more growl, so I'm assuming the sunbeams will settle in and give me that?

The last time Thomas Risell aka MarloweDK came to my shop to do a clinic he asked for Sunbeams for his red '71 Jazz.

Did they get slapped? Oh yea'!!;-)

Sunbeams are great but nickel Lo Riders are more growly & better for slap IMO.

Hi-Beams have a natural scoop that works very well for slap.

SunBeams are midrangey.

I beg to differ, I think sunbeams are the go to rounds for a lot of flat users. Me for one
