SUPER CHEAP Chinese Rickenbacker... Worth Buying?

My friend had a blonde fake Ric. I think it had "Rickerbacken" on the headstock. It was actually an OK bass tone-wise. The neck was a bit thick for me. IMO, they'd be better off creating a similar instrument ala SX. The website scares me tho---DHGate.com really a legit site??

oh no -!!!!! now the KOREANS are getting into the act !!!!!

BUT, the Koreans are bound by copyright laws so it may have similar style, but it's no Chinese Ric "clone"

rickenbacker instruments are so expensive, its obvious that someone will buy the chinese copies.
most of us don't go to the toilet and clean our asses with a 100 dolar billss..
jeje
well yes...maybe with a fake 100 dolar bill.. jejj

They are expensive instruments, but not ridiculously so. $1600 will get you a brand new Ric 4003. That's less than a Sadowsky, a Fender Custom Shop, just slightly more than a Fender MIA regular production model, less than a Gibson, etc etc etc. There are MANY more expensive basses out there than a Ric.

They're also unique in the way they are designed and in the way they sound. They're actually quite a bargain for what you get.

Eh...iono about all that.

I love Rics don't get me wrong, but in the past 5 years they have doubled in price for no reason more than, 'just because' in my opinion.

Is the price justifiable?

Yeah. Is the increase out of fkn no where? Not in my opinion. Oh and where can you get a brand new one for 1600 if you don't mind sharing? :D

I have no affiliation, I just got this quote from them a few weeks ago. There are other places at this price as well.

Not too shabby.

Iono I hadn't paid attention to new and used prices since I bought mine back in like 03 just seemed like out of no where they doubled in price.

You're not buying ANY variety of "Ric:" You ARE buying a piece of junk disguised a Ric. No, it's not worth it, unless your idea of a really good time is surrounding yourself with crap. It's a lot cheaper to go wallow in the local landfill.
uh, and what would you call any cheap Fender copy then??? According to you, every SX that came out of the factory should be in the landfill before it reaches the USA just because it looks like a Fender but only costs 100.00?
