Super-lightweight P bass build

Buffing wheel+ lathe = shiny bass!

Would love to hear how heavy this thing weights when you're done.

It looks a lot like what I hope to eventually build, when I get the chops.
Yes I haven't weighed it yet as there's no scales at work so it'll have to wait until I get home. I don't think it will be as super light as I hoped but will definitely be lighter than my mim P. I definitely could've gone thinner on the top and back, I think 6mm would be fine, and the whole body could be a bit thinner, I think I could comfortably get it down to 32mm thick next time.

Couple of photos, this is essentially finished, apart from I still need to buff the headstock which I haven't got round to yet. More pics to follow once that's done.

It's playing very nice apart from a small annoying buzz on the A string which I can't seem to pinpoint. The pickups are amazing, my new fave! Very full sounding and hi-fi. And I'm really digging the weight!

How do you like those Delano fat poles?

Very nice job. And what do those pickups sound like?

I haven't yet played this through my 500 watt ampeg which is in my practice place, but through my little orange 100w practice amp at home they sound great. I'm not great at describing pickup tones, but I suppose to me they sound very full and hi-fi. Not a million miles away from Duncan 1/4 pounders which I have in my other p bass, but less scooped in the mids. Definitely the nicest sounding p pickup I've tried so far.
