Supernova Bass project : Ovular content

So here's the current status on the Supernova; The neck was sent back - if anyone noticed my hs shot, the 1st position fb is missing the vertical oval. This is an important detail for me. Luckily it's an easy fix and just a bit more time. The Sahara Taupe ended up a sort of Gibson Les Paul gold-top colour. It's ok - it works and is actually a favorable relative to my Supernova's Firemist Gold Metallic.

ST will appear on a future project - part of how things go sometimes. It's best to be open for unexpected twists and turns in life and be ready to refocus and move forward.
Me likey!

I'm still loving every bit of it, even if the paint didn't quite come out the way you wanted. It looks friggin' rad.

Me too Brett - I dig the colour. Like wraub sez' - it gives it sibling identity, they're super-related! One gets so myopic about the forest that you lose sight of the trees. (or however that goes :cautious:)

Thanks to all who are following this thread - there's more to come soon! I weighed the body and it's a very svelte 3.5lbs - so I'm looking forward to a lean, mean rocking' machine once built up!

Agreed completely. You've got yourself two pretty killer basses right there. It's easy to get caught-up in everything not going perfectly and then dwelling on it, but it looks like you're taking it in stride to say the very least. As you should; the bass is totally cool.

I'm looking forward to more pictures :hyper:

soon it sounds like - Pat got the neck yesterday and moved it to the front of the cue. (Pat's the man) My B-Quad arrives next week - and my T2K should be done soon also. I'm going to be busy wrapping up a few basses really soon.

Well, not a techie-type either, but...

Start with a recorder. :) A 4 or 8 track recorder, an interface to a software system, whatever.
If recorder, transfer the recording to your computer as a file. If software, save the file you create.
Create a membership to Soundcloud, youtube, myspace, whatever, and send the file you saved there.
Post a link to wherever your file is on TB, and let us, the masses, rejoice. :D

That's how I linked to my aural crap...

Pretty sure some actual techie-type will be along at some point to set us both straight. Hope this has been some help anyway.

Good luck!

I gave my Tascam 4 track (cassette) recorder to a friend years ago, and currently don't have a recorder. (I warned you…) I'll enlist one of my tech-savvy friends to help me out.

Was this your inspiration?
PEGASUS.5ST.jpg

(I actually found this while looking at Hofners believe it or not)

First time I laid eyes on it - interesting… I wonder if the black 'thing' is made of a soft material? (wrist rest?) Also curious to have the controls up on top. It could work I guess but would depend on where one usually plays. I'm center to lower usually, but w/the angled neck pu it's pretty close to the controls. I think my next bass will be a 5'r and I have a few sketches that are in this ballpark.

Warwick did one as well but it's not the same.

oh yah - forgot about that one. Chromed body & pu covers w/trans red. Warwick definitely tries some different things and has the mu$cle to back it up. This one looks useful, but they can have the Bootsy "Star" bass and the Warwick "W" model. Seems to be purely to attract attention to their brand in an over-saturated marketplace.
