Supro Huntington Basses

It actually fits surprisingly well in my SKB case, with the interior molded for Fender body shape. Also works in my full sized generic rectangular case.
Well, I was having mixed thoughts about my H3/piezo mainly due to indistinct articulation on the lower "E" string.
Standard 30" scale arglebargle. Flabby/floppy & too hot below the 7th fret or so.
First thing I did when I got it was ditch the flats. Not a "flats" guy.
Tried several different brands of rounds with varying successes along with various setup trix such as lowering the pickups.
Earlier today I installed a set of Newtone Platinum 4 string bass Short Scale Stainless Steel Round Cores gauged .045-.065-.085-.105 and it's much closer to my ideals.
I think I'll be sticking with these although I might go a few thousandths thicker on the "E" & "G" next time. Could stand just a bit more bottom.
Great customer service @ Newtone. Nice people. No issues with custom gauge sets for bass or guitar. Love their "Heritage" set for acoustic guitar too.
Takes a while to receive custom set shipments in the colonies and they're a bit more expensive, but that's fine by me since they sound great.
Time will tell regarding longevity.
Not ready to give up on the Huntington quite yet, after all...

I have the H2 and the H3. Generally I prefer the H2. Sometimes less is more.
I'd be happy with either one...with the piezo option.
Damn, good thing I'm not looking to buy because that price is ridiculous!
Would love a fretless H2 with piezo, they seem to be kind of hard to find. I don’t know if anyone has mentioned, but I’ve seen Jack Whites bass player using one a few times.
I love my H1. With the pickup in the sweet spot like a P bass you can get a lot of tone variation by just playing close to the neck or close to the bridge.
I just picked up a Huntington II off reverb. Cool bass! I've only ever placed standard 34" scale basses...and I'm confused on what strings to buy - it needs flats, for me. I should be looking for a Short scale set for a 30" scale..is that correct?
Yes - you want Short Scale (30" scale) strings. Supro ships D'Addario strings on new Huntingtons. If you like flats, one option is the D'Addario Short Scale Chromes.

I think the shortest of the short scale flats are the D'Addario Chromes Short Scale.

I am planning to build a bass similiar to the supro model ...
Would someone kindly provide me with some measurements?
I would especially be interested in knowing the width of the neck on the nut and on the 15th fret (where the neck meets the body)
Also the maximum width of the body (33cm?) and the length, from the 15th fret to the strap button side. Many thanks!

Have any Huntington owners done a pickup swap? I'm thinking of doing this on my H1 to try to alleviate the low volume issue on the E string and would be interested to know if that has worked for anyone else. I'm considering either a Mojo "Goldtone" Gold Foil or a Mojo Dynatone (both designed specifically for bass and both with individual pole piece adjustment).
