Sweetwater

I'll say....I bought a strap and they called me once a month for 4 years. I'd shop there over GC any day.

Received catalogs for at least 3 years without buying anything. My rep, Nic, still touched base with me by email and by phone. When I bought my Mesa D800+ plus, guess where I bought it. Processing of the order, shipping, and packaging of the order was exceptional. Follow up after the order was fantastic. Will without a doubt, do most of my business with them.

Agree with the other positive reviews. I let the sales representative know when I'm shopping for something and he usually bends over backwards to make sure I continue to do business with the company.

They also send out a huge Pro Gear catalog every once in a while. When I'm done with it, I take it to the local bar jam, throw it on the table and say, "pornography."
I found out about Sweetwater when someone at my company left a catalogue in the lunchroom, not long after I bought a Rumble 500 from them. Warning, the Fender Rumble Club will NOT talk you out of buying gear.

I'd like to work for Sweetwater, their employees seem to be happy with their positions.
Depends upon the position you want. I have a friend who recently lasted only months there. It turns out the title of receptionist entailed also answering and routing 400-500 calls a day. That said, I've been on a tour of the property and they do seem to treat employees exceptionally. The facility is pretty incredible with its amenities for public and employees.

The friend just wasn't cut out for that many calls a day, I suppose.

They have a great sales model—very helpful. I talked my rep’s ear off for an hour as he helped me think through different amp/guitar options. He was insightful the whole time and had me consider gear I hadn’t thought of. No pressure to buy—in fact, I didn’t buy anything from that list until about 4 months later. I have made a half dozen purchases in the last year from them. A couple of those were $500-$700. A couple demo items, too. I got great deals on everything. I also bought a used bass from a private seller through their classified section.

My rep doesn't bother me, but is always right there if I need a recommendation. I recently bought a set of drum microphones, on sale, and realized that I got the set that had one fewer than I needed. I sent the box back, bought the correct set, and got a refund for the set I sent back. No problems at all. As far as email spam, I get so much email that I'm really good at just deleting all kinds of stuff without paying much attention. Sweetwater spam has something interesting in it more often than other spam, so I generally take a look before deleting. So there you have it. Another happy customer who has been assimilated into the Sweetwater cult.

Just know that whatever phone number you give them, they will call you to thank you personally for the order. After ordering a new amp without telling the wife I came home and she had already heard the message from SW thanking me for the order! "Sweetwater called to say they will be shipping your amp tomorrow." Ooops. If you don't want your wife to find out, give them your cell number!

Five or six years ago I bought an Ibanez SR300 from them. Setup was ok, all it really needed was tuning. They called me several times to followup. I politely asked that they stop calling, which they complied with. Catalogs still come in the mail but that’s fine. More recently I bought a Line 6 Sonic Pod. It was the same price as Amazon, and included free candy. Arrived in 3 days. They called, asked how I planned to use it.

This is all good. If you just don’t want to be called or emailed, tell them politely and they will stop.
